Another one like Blaupunkt trading on the heritage of what was once a great brand. Currys use JVC under license for own brand cheap stuff. Most likely only worth £90.

Yeah...it was 300 quid originally. Try getting anything with Atmos and 4k/hdr passthrough for under 100 quid!

This could be a steal!

Simulated Dolby Atmos is poor at the best of times, nothing beats the correct placement of speakers.
No way is that real Dolby atmos at that price

Real Dolby atmos has downfiring speakers on the ceiling, so any sound bar is only simulated atmos where they fire the speakers at the ceiling to bounce the sound back down.
Potential for wild goose chase aside, this is pretty damn hard to beat for the price considering it has 4K/ HDMI and a wireless sub.

Real Dolby Atmos, what are you smoking
Damn guys it's £90 and with a little tuning will be better than any other soundbar you can buy for £90.

It sounds fantastic for £90 and may just suit someone's budget.

If your local has one and you want one then buy it but don't open. I've got to review a cheap TV tomorrow but will try to get a review up in the next couple days.

My oled doesn't have Dolby Atmos though but I'll try to work something out.

Honestly though, I'd just treat this as a reasonably good 5.1.2 soundbar and be done with it.

Bless you, I guess you don’t really understand what Dolby atmos is and you’re incapable of reading more than a few words from a sentence. Be gone

I don't think this has ever been £90! Where? Or are you just saying this is what it's worth?

It's clear that you dont

You do know that on the Atmos home page, you know by the people who created it, Dolby there is a soundbar even my Samsung Note has Atmos. 'Real Atmos', what a joker

Atmos is just their branding for object based sound just like DTS:X is DTS's

You’re a clown, just read what atmos is. I don’t care if your kettle has atmos you need ceiling speakers for a true atmos experience.

If not £90, was £99 definetely. I considered to get this 2-3 times, was 90 something, under £100. I've changed my mind when I check the prices for other DA systems, I realised it can't be true this to be proper DA. Also, changed my mind when I came across the JVC TVs, absolutely rubbish.
However, as a normal sound bar, I think the price is ok and if simulates Dolby Atmos is even better.

Update - after careful consideration, you may be right, not sure if the one I came across had a subwoofer

In this case I will even vote hot! And will erase my previous message. In fact, I even want one😁. Despite the fact this will not really be DA.

Real Atmos? Lol. you can get a Dolby Atmos mode for Xbox that works with any regular headphones (2 speakers left and right) and sounds incredible.

Multiple speakers around the room is a way to do it, sure. But these days it’s just one way to get surround. A sound bar can bounce sound waves off walls or use acoustic phase shifting to fool your brain into thinking sound is coming from everywhere. Which sounds like science fiction but is actual acoustic science.

Some of the virtual surround stuff can be surprisingly good is it as good as 10 grands worth of speakers in your ceiling? No. But you’d swear there were speakers placed around the room.

At this price this sound bar is an absolute steal.

Definitely has upward firing speakers, you can see them through the grille.
39878460-zbzFv.jpgGot it setup in the bedroom with the oled and it sounds great!

I had to reduce the bass, up the treble and sounds good, really good considering the brand and current price.

The only issue I've found is Netflix. It triggered Dolby Atmos but the sub didn't work on any show only the soundbar (every other app and TV channel worked)

I changed the TV audio to pcm and now the sub works on every app and input.

Yep this is the one with the humongous sub-woofer lol

Oh ok, couldn't see any in the picture.
I've got a LG sl6y brand new today and doubt I'm going to use it
Seems like a steal but the user reviews (in the link) are really off putting. I think it best to put the money into a more capable (and yes, a more expensive) sound bar which is better apt at producing an atmos like experience (even though many argue here that would never be the case without separate speakers). From the review points the sub sounds quite horrendous and vocals coming through it is just another thing

Dolby themselves focus more on upward firing speakers than ceiling mounted.
Of course a dedicated ceiling setup will be superior. That is also the preserve of a few who are either happy with the room deconstruction to fit and/or have the extra cash.
Upward firing speakers are more than adequate for most bar the £200 HDMI owners.

Yeah I've noticed that but only when the soundbar is really low.

I turned it down as it got late but it was ok as I switched to TV speakers anyway.

At a reasonable volume it sounds ok. I think that's why the reviews are 70/30 split.
We don’t have up firing ears, you know? We have two ears yet can hear things all around us. We do this because our brain works out which ear hears sounds first and that’s how we calculate direction and distance. Virtual surround works on the exact same principle.

There’s pants virtual surrounded sure. But also very good Virtual surround. Anyone who is dismissing it out of hand hasn’t tried it.
This will do nicely for a secondary viewing room

i have a samsung q90r soundbar with rear front and up firing speakers and the soundbar has up and side firing speakers that depend on room placement and bounce of the ceiling and walls. it sounds just like my friend down firing ceiling atmos set up if not better. also, i have a feeling atmos is gonna disappear soon and get replaced by something else

there is youtube videos of audiophile people looking at set ups with 10+ speakers with real 3d atmos, which costs thousands of pounds and that's excluding room correction and soundproofing etc. you could argue that these guys have a TRUE Atmos experience

Atmos is object based audio. Dolby sets out various ways it can be delivered. Whether thats with a 64 speaker cinema system, a ten speaker home system, a sound bar or headphones. it's all Atmos.

I believe you! I was watching Netflix on a Lenovo 8" tablet and I almost had a heart attack as I thought someone was in my house.

It clicked after 10secs that the movie was in Dolby...it's mad!

I said that in a previous post but sadly some people do not get it as they associate Atmos as a set speaker setup
Would this be better than the Yamaha yas108 ?
