I bought one of these from Comet and took it back the following day. The focus on these are appauling.
In low light conditions (even in my living room with a light on) it continually goes in and out of focus.

I'm being deadly serious when I say my Nokia N95 produced clearer videos!

The Hitachi DVD/HDD combo camcorder is a better deal - less than the price of this and was rated a Which! magazine 'best buy'.

I have the 40gb version and it's absolutely fine. Took it on holiday and took some cracking videos in all light level conditions. Maybe you got a duff one. :?

I bought mine to film The Grand Canyon from a helicopter. Considering the 'vibrational' conditions (both sound and wobble) everyone who's seen the DVD is amazed at the quality!

You need to be careful.

The JVC model default file format is unique to JVC.

The files will not play in windows media player with amendments.

Looks interesting, good price.

bought the 20gb 18months ago for £279, camera is fine and i'm happy with video, have to agree with post about jvc's file type, easy to watch on tv but pc did not recognise file , this was not a problem to start with as 20gb takes a bit of filling, problem solved when i bought a panasonic dvd recorder, now simply attach to recorder, insert blank dvd, record, done. Dvd can be added to, then finalised when full and plays on any player. So, for £200, 30gb, not much to lose, if looking for camcorder, go for it.

get a program called MPEG Streamclip. search google. I use it to convert JVC's .mod files and its grand
