FFS! A branded TV + 5 year warranty. Do you expect to get it for free?

That is a link to a different 'type' of Tv and it is approaching 30% more in price. Why not make a new thread if you think it'll hold up as a deal.

Branded?? What planet are you on?

Have you never heard of JVC

JVC TV`s are not made by JVC

"JVC no longer manufactures television sets themselves.[citation needed] JVC TVs are now being manufactured by AmTRAN Video Corporation along with distribution, service, and warranty under brand license by JVC KENWOOD Corporation."

en.wikipedia.org/wik…JVC

This might say JVC on the front but the TV is made by Vestel, its not made by JVC. You could buy a 50inch Technika, Bush, Polaroid for less and they would be essentially identical to this. Wait around for the Polaroid 50inch at Asda coming back in stock for £260 if you're in no rush - that's what I would do anyway.

Not voting cold though.

Feel free to think that JVC is a branded TV set.....

Chill your beans boys, it's all getting very heated in here.

I bought one of these today, it'll last me for a couple of years until the standardisation, connectivity & price of UHD settles down. This is decent value for a 50" LED-backlit LCD TV, branded or not. If you want better/branded then spend more money. The main differentiator between manufacturers these days is the 'smart' functions, and even on the 'best' TVs these are still in their infancy.

Hotness added :-)

Feel free to think Samsung and Sony make ALL of the panels that go in to their branded TVs... they don't ;-)

good deal but why is it so thick?

good deal but why is it so thick?

I think that's an illusion, I had a look at one in Currys and it's not really any thicker than any other LED TV. It's not super-skinny like the OLED TVs though.
