Looking at this one as at £59.95 currently. This would appear even better value.

Thanks for the update misterc  The free delivery makes it even better, i'll update the OP to reflect the price change

Could be perfect for the office. Does it have AUX input at the rear as well as the front?

Have just received this, paid for out of my nPower 'oops we overcharged you' refund.

The sound from this is surprisingly good* for the money. Just testing it out in my lounge as my amplifier died (after a mere 8 years, thanks Marantz!) and whilst it isn't as good as £700 of HiFi, it's putting up a damn good job, it just can't get anywhere near as loud (which doesn't matter for my office, deafness isn't a particular aim in life for me).

Good buy, and 2 year warranty eases my worries about longevity (I had a £100 Amstrad micro-hifi when I went to university Oh So Long Ago (1996) that lasted a year, and some of that was with blutak on the CD player to stop it skipping because their idea of dampening was a sproingy spring).

*Note: my hearing may possibly be quite non-audiophile at this stage in my life...

JVC specs jvc.co.uk/pro…097

• Quick Portable Link -- the unit detects analogue signals from a connected player, then automatically turns on the power and switches the source to AUX
• Front Audio Input for easy connection with a portable audio player

In my experience, JVC and Panasonic mini systems are the only ones worth auditioning for their sound quality
