I've been looking at these for a while and they seem great for the price. This is the cheapest I have found.

Although DinoDirect are not UK based, they offer free delivery to the UK.

The build quality probably isn't as good as more expensive tablets however, after doing a bit of research on google it seems there are lots of people that are happy with them and would recommend them and for this price it seems fantastic.

Great for running emulators such as PS1, Mega Drive, NES, SNES, N64, GBA and even Dreamcast + More. Can also use for android games and use button mapping to use the hard controls.

Does everything else you would expect from an android tablet.

Main Specs:
7" Capacitive Touch Screen with 1280x800 resolution
Cortex A9 Quad Core Processor 1.6Ghz
2gb RAM
8GB Internal Hard Drive
External Storage up to 32gb
Inbuilt Wifi
Dual Speakers
Android 4.2 OS

Heat for the price. I very nearly bought one of these a few weeks ago but what deterred me were the stories from owners of its questionable build quality and the daft way the storage capacity is partitioned regardless of how large a capacity memory card is used. Other than that it seems a highly impressive device for the money.

I'm certain with a bit of fiddling you can swap storage over so, say you have a 32gb card, that becomes system storage & system storage becomes the sd card.

I have one but not done much with it yet lol though I have installed a few of my play store games. Gta is so much easier now!

Do they mark the package down below the customs value?
If not, there's going to be a sizeable charge on top (VAT + Customs % + flat fee IIRR)

Good deal...... But if you Google Dino Direct you'll find their customer service is horrific and the are many stories of non delivery. There was even one I read about a guy from the UK contacting the Hong Kong police.

I do have one of these but paid the extra and got it from a UK supplier on amazon.

Great wee machine, my only gripe is the wifi can be flakey. I've got a SanDisk 64gb micro sd in mine, plenty of rom choice

I have one and yes get a 32gb card install a custom rom and it makes all the storage on the 32gb card and the machine is wicked it plays and does everything. I use mine daily!! Old arcade games with full controls and loads and loads of emulators

I'm still confused by HUKD policy on 'grey imports'. Sometimes they allow them, sometimes they just remove them without warning - depending on which way the wind's blowing and if there's a full moon and how many people called Cedric they could see out their office window who own a 3 legged dog called Ralph.

I brought this nearly 2 months ago from them, still waiting for it !!! It did arrive but was DOA, had to argue to refund my shipping cost. They sent out a replacement weeks ago, still waiting for it. As for their customer service, as with all these China based e-shops, its not very good. Having said that, they at least reply to e-mails and phone calls etc, so compared to the others they are actually quite good. (Their competence is another thing though).

There are some customs roms which has some good feedback (I don't have the links on me, just google it). Reviews on the item itself has been quite positive, and the price now is more so attractive.

I've ordered a couple of things from this company and to date have never received anything, had to go down the route of paypal claims each time

I have one of these and paid £100+. It's a good machine with emulators installed already, you only need to find the roms on the net

After reading this very contradictive statement i fail to believe anything else you say!
Sound like you dont like "Made in China"

I've got the S7800b and had it for a few months now and I have to say its a cracking device. I paid about £40 more than what this is on offer for, but I did so knowing I was buying it from a UK seller brand new as opposed to taking the risk of something taking the long boat from China.

The device is fantastic for all old school emulation. So this means more or less perfect emulation of NES, SNES, Megadrive, Master System, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Playstation1 and MAME. There are also now emulators for PSP and Dreamcast which are improving very quickly and are now capable of playing most games perfectly well.

There are a couple of niggly issues like the HDMI out performance leaves a lot to be desired (using HDMI out slows the device down so isn't really usable for games, only films) and the AC adapter that comes with it is a bit cheap. It plays all the android games too and you can configure most games to work with the buttons, all in all its a very nice piece of kit!

Nice concept.

But if you have a recent phone with a big screen, you don't really need it.

I use one of these: amazon.co.uk/Mog…XU/

Which I'm mainly using with a SNES emulator on a Note 3. Works great. About half the price of this without the hassle of dealing with a Chinese e-shop. And can obviously use with other devices. Tried mine briefly with a Windows 8 phone and an iPhone and it worked well with those as well.

This looks like the idea device to take on holiday!

Nice idea if you have a Note. The battery life of other phones is just awful when it comes to playing games, it's a battery killer, especially anything that involves 3D graphics. Much prefer to have a separate device for gaming rather than killing my phone battery in less than 2 hours.

True. I must admit I've been hugely impressed with battery life in the Note 3.

But if power drain was an issue, I'd have gone for this version: amazon.co.uk/Mog…JM/

... instead. Change as you play.

The stick itself is really nice. Feels very like a proper console controller.

The battery life on the Note 3 is really how all phones should be.

As much as I love my Nexus 5, the battery life leaves a lot to be desired. With no gaming, it barely gets through the day.

Agreed.

I went Note 1 > Lumia 920 > Note 3 ..... and the battery life on the 3 is so far ahead of the other two it's incredible.

Although, guy at work got a Lumia 1520 and the battery in that seems to hold up about as well as the Note 3.

This Tablet is PUKKA!! I had the previous 1 too s7300 which was crap, even tho I tried my best with it (various ROMs etc) it kept freezing and crashing.

This model - S7800 is on another level. It is solid made and very high quality. I've had it for the past few months and have thrown LOADS at it and never had any problems. Its really quick and runs the top end games with no probs, as well as PSP, DS, PSX, ARCADE games all perfect

I highly recommend you treat yourself to 1 of these bad boys

I've ordered one but from Amazon UK for peace of mind, plus as I haven't got the time to wait for Dino.

This thing will keep me entertained through out a flight no problem I think!

Shame that it can't be charged over USB. But I may make a cable for that.

Unless I am missing something, though, it is about £45 more expensive from Amazon ?

Correct.

But much quicker and less hassle if there are any problems.

Tempting indeed I must say...

It might be £45 dearer to buy it in this country but there is no saying that you wont be stung with customs getting it from China. And like others have mentioned, buy it in this country, its not a hassle to send it back etc. Sending a device back to China is a massive ballache, and an expensive one at that.

This is what sold it to me by the way. How could I resist. Anyone else notice on this 'Dino' site that you can (for an additional fee) choose 'beauty wrapping' which as far as I can see is the option to select a beautiful man or woman of your choice to package the product for you?

Is that not the weirdest thing you've ever seen?

An should have mentioned I forked the extra £45 from Amazon on the basis it is UK based already, and having had a few JXDs in the part know they can be faulty as the QC is not up to scratch. They have 1 left In stock in the UK if you what to count your losses and file with PP for DD, they have a pretty awful rep.

What should i get this, the advent tegra 7 or nexus 7 2012

from going abroad so need web and some gaming fun, web lag annoys me so it must be stable!
