I thought the same with that princess tales of the sleeping king. It looks very much Zelda inspired but the game was really short for the £10-15 I paid for it.

At less than £3 I may give this ago as I do enjoy the old classic Zelda style games.

Edit;

I'll probably pass...

This is a great game to speed run, as there are 3 characters to choose from, each with their own unique abilities. Definitely worth the price of admission. Art style is beautiful and the music is spectacular.
I had enough gold points to get this for free so seems like 3 hours of fun times.

for comparison the game evoland is incredibly short but I enjoyed that immensly, I should revisit the 2nd one at some point
Have been meaning to get this.

I bought golf story and it is utterly brilliant, I love the pixel art style!

Is this site accurate? Or is it for a certain level of players?

What is golf story like? Is it games of golf with a story behind it or a hidden Rpg? Been curious on it.

howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=45247

Its usually community based. People vote their play times and get an average.

It could be slightly under or over based on what you complete yourself.

I believe Blossoms tale of the sleeping king was rated 11 hours and I beat it in 7 on my first play through. So it's usually a pinch of salt timer.

Edit; looked on YouTube people posting 45min videos. Reviews are saying it's completable in an hour-hour and a half. Some comments saying they did it within 50mins on first play through.

It's a game aimed at the speed run community. Best score/timer style game. Very little story going on.

It could be alright at under 3 bucks. But it doesn't look like my thing.

More stats from the page above.

I'll have a look on YouTube at the gameplay. It does look cool with the retro inspired design. Been needing to get a new game for the switch. Currently doing fallout shelter with the timer cheat.
Golf story is great! The golf bits are like classic nes/game boy golf , or ‘everybody’s golf’ on PS. Solid, funny storyline. It’s a lot of fun. Highly recommended

Does remind me of Mario golf from the sne's days. Also heard it has multi player gold modes. Which is a plus.

I'm really enjoying it and don't really like golf games usually. It's a nice little RPG.

Bit of both really. It has RPG elements like upgrading your ability and completing quests to unlock extras that will give you extra perks when playing gold. TBH none of the side quests or main story feels necessary like the do in other games, the story and dialogue is so well written it's a real pleasure to interact with the NPCs so you do it for that reason anyway. I was playing owlboy and put it down to try golfstory and havent played anything else since, its a blast you should defo pick it up if youre interested.

Edit: I see you've already bought it Hope you enjoy it!

It does look like a cool game. I mainly wanted it for the classic Mario golf style gameplay.
I'll be curious to see how it plays.

But this year I promised myself if I pick up a game I have to play it through fully before testing another game. I got a list of half finished games as I jump from one to another often.

Also,. Really liking Nioh

This is a very short game, but that's OK. It's still a good game.

When you think that this is less than the price of a bus ticket, that seems fair to me for three hours entertainment.
I had some gold points for South Africa region and just bought this for £1.99 using Revolut (current price on SA store is R38.5 [~£2.15])
