I think you will find town center shopping has been killed by a combination of

Ridiculous business rates
Parking costs and aggressive ticketing
Poor customer service
Non-competitive pricing

Went to the local Screwfix, was still advertised at £39.99 in store until I told them it was £24.99. Great deal and thanks for the heads up mrty.

I understand your sentiment, but why look at at money saving site if you aren't happy to save money?

And electric lighting killed the gas lamp industry. It's progress. Companies evolve to meet it, or die. It has always been thus.

This site also posts bargain at my local asda, b&q, morrisons and various other local stores. So my sentiment is true, online retailers kill town shops. It's a fact buddy.

Too right and the local council are @£"@!$£@ when it comes to town planning and parking restrictions... I'd rather go to a retail park these days.
gone up. Price:£27.99

We know, we just don't care. The world evolves and local stores need to offer something more in order to compete, whether that be service, product or price. If they can't compete then they need to find something else to do.

Cool, so by your answer then shops should all shut down as they can't compete.. way to go Einstein..
Maybe when all your local shops have shut down and encourage more crime in the area and homeless people dossing in shop doorways. Not to mention the increase in unemployment, we can remember you saved a few quid online.. nice one fella.

I think you'll find that Asda, B&Q, Morrisons, etc. killed off more local shops than Amazon.
The internet will not kill retail on its own. People still like to make tactile purchases. However if retail doesn't evolve, sales will be punished. Retailers need to focus on getting pricing inline with sheds and the internet. Also customer service is my biggest bug bear with bricks and mortar stores. I can buy online and return within 14 days online, even if opened. Stores treat you like evil vile scum.

I worked retail for 10+ years so have seen both sides of the coin.

I completely agree, you should stop wasting your time on the retail infidels who use this site and get yourself a copy of this amazon.co.uk/Int…oll... cheapest at Amazon...
