Karcher K2 Compact Pressure Washer £37 in all B&Q stores this weekend with 'power prices'

I just saw a TV ad for some new promotion B&Q are doing for the first time this weekend and it's called 'power prices'.

There are a few products reduced so by all means add to this post with others but the one that caught my eye was a Karcher K2 Compact Pressure Washer for £37!

The small print on the ad (which can't be seen in my badly taken photo of the TV screen) says one per customer and it's available 23rd - 25th August.

I have a K4 compact that's only a few weeks old, so I have no need for this at all...

So why the hell am I so tempted?

Nice little PW. Good luck getting one.

Great deal - voted hot.
Does this offer make it too good to pass up, or is the Niflisk equivalent from Argos (admittedly more expensive currently but with metal pump and patio accessories) the better option?
Reliability versus performance versus price. I'm in a quandary......

Good price if you can get one has been £50 lately. Quite happy with mine but this doesn't come with the patio washer attachment though

don't think that it's a branded name it will automatically be better. they could easily be made by the same company

It's the K2 per the online ad.. super deal

What's the point of going down? last few times went to pick up one of their "special deals, nothing was left. spoke to a member of staff and was informed that only a maximum number are displayed at the reduced price, once they have gone then that's it, even though may have stock in the back. was also informed that a majority of yhe special deals get picked up by staff or put aside for members of their families. just a waste of time...personally

I've reserved one until closing 2morrow but the one on the home page seems different to the one I have reserved as itdoes nnot sshow the patio accaccessories. Hopefully it's the right one

exactly that, i remember i met a store manager for wh smiths once, while chatting he said once a year they'd do a big sale on games & consoles (50-80% off) - he used to buy all the consoles himself and put them on ebay.

I've reserved one until closing 2morrow but the one on the home page seems different to the one I have reserved as itdoes nnot sshow the patio accaccessories. Hopefully it's the right one

CAN PEOPLE STOP MOANING ABOUT THE BLOODY PUMP?

Has a 2 year warranty, so if it breaks, get a replacement FFS.

you cannot reserve this for collection instore. Those that think they have done so, have reserved the wrong one!

The £37 deal is for the basic one which DOES NOT include the patio attachment. Anyone thinking they've reserved that are sadly mistaken. Most likely you've reserved this one http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/garden-power-tools/pressure-washers-sprayers/light_duty_pressure_washers/Karcher-K2-Compact-Home-Pressure-Washer-12698605

The one in the deal is not viewable on the website

Good deal, but the patio attachment is about £50 to buy oO

Yes it does but the price is £50 so I'm not sure exactly why it has been posted on this thread.

Karcher at any price isnt the best! Buy a pressure washer with a metal pump, yeah you do need to mention it lol, because they are crap! Ive had a Karcher and nothing but problems. Also a Hozelock which never worked and totally useless. Stopped manufacturing 18 monthsa ago, wonder why? If like me you use it approx twice a year then even a 2 year warranty is a no good! Try a Nilfisk, metal pump, read the reviews!

Read a bunch of reviews about the specific models from around the internet? When I was looking into Karcher, I forget the model, there seemed to be an awful lot of complaints about them breaking easily. I note that the comment above mine says the same.

Just to put a spanner in the works, I bought a Karcher a few years ago via one of those £20 Tesco clearance/roadtrip offers and it still works.

Good deal voted hot

it actually doesnt work...

I was at B&Q Solihull this afternoon to buy something else and there was at least 20 boxes of this washer at the enterance with no price displayed. Every thing else next to them had a price sign so I guess they were not selling them until tomorrow..did not bother asking as I dont need one

It definitely works. I just clicked it and do not have magical powers. Try copying and pasting into the addressbar if you really want to buy for 50 quid!

I wouldn't buy this because of the plastic pump. It only takes a little bit of remaining water to freeze and crack the plastic. Better off with a metal pump I.e Nilfisk lol..... But then again £37 is very cheap.

The last Karcher I had kept cutting out after a few minutes use, the service agent explained this is common as the air cooled motors are crap and overheat, replaced with a Nilfisk and never had an issue and it's in a different league in terms of pressure despite the spec's being similar. It's cheap but i'd suggest spending slightly more on a Nilfisk is the better option.

Well I've just called the Altrincham store and the manager refused to hold one until tomorrow :(???

It's not all about having a metal pump!

The aluminium (light but not particularly strong) pumps in those Nilfisk pressure washers are not built to last any more than the plastic pumps in low end Karchers. You get what you pay for basically. Aluminium pumps can provide more pressure than plastic but I've also heard that aluminium pumps are not great if you use the pressure washer infrequently.

If you really want something that will last, buy something with a brass pump but be prepared to spend a lot more money.

Just got mine! Plenty of stock in farnborough. Thanks op

just got mine too. derby store they had about 50 of them as u walk in.

thanks for the post.

Have some heat op!!

Got one, thanks OP.

About 20 left in basildon about 25 mins ago.

Got mine Plenty of stock at B&q warehouse leeds

I had a K4 until someone borrowed it and broke it. Bought this K2 this morning and it is a little under powered and only useful for bikes and small items so don't be thinking this is high powered, only 100 bar.

Agreed nilfisk us better although the karcher professional are better. However with the price of karcher professional you would be better off getting a kranzle

Same deal available also from amazon in case people can't find at b&q
