Been looking at this for a while from the Karcher outlet which was £139.99, refurbished, minus the accessories and with a disappointing 6 months guarantee (upgradeable to 12 months)

This was circa £255 on JL a few weeks ago with a 5 year guarantee and free delivery and has now dropped to £199, which is the same as the non-premium version (home, with 'only' 3 years guarantee).

B&Q and Amazon are doing it at the same price but not with the 5 year guarantee.

Currys, Argos and Homebase amongst others are still selling for £299

Just to add, seems to be online only, don't think this is available instore

how do these work? when you connect a hose, does the machine need to store water?

Not bothered, but unsure why there are cold votes as if anyone can find it cheaper with the same guarantee, feel free to post the link here.

The machine itself does not store water but boosts the mains pressure up to a certain level by forcing it through a narrower outlet than the supply feed.

Same price on Amazon but the 5 year guarantee with JL would swing it for me.

People don't want to pay £200 for a pressure washer, not even with 5 years warranty. Some warranties are not worth the paper they are written on, the retailer or manufacture will always try and get out of long term warranties if a claim is made by using specified terms.

John Lewis specify in their terms Servicing, inspecting or cleaning of the product; and failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and/or installation guidelines

You have to know how to correctly use and store a pressure washer, correctly clean, drain and maintain to the manufactures guidelines. The most common fault caused by the user is incorrectly draining of water during storing through winter months, this then aids to the premature failure of the motor.

Dirt and grime is also another factor when maintaining your pressure washer, incorrect cleaning or non cleaning will also aid to the warranty to be void.

You can buy decent pressure washers starting from £30 to £40, if looked after correctly they will last years.

I bought the Halfords HP2000 pressure washer for £25, reduced from £100 (the deal was on here). Its an 1800W with 7 metres of hose and is built like a tank. It came already assembled and is a big beast, something Karcher lack the ability to build and offer their units already assembled.

I do agree not everyone wants to spend £200 on a washer and yes my previous, cheaper one lasted years.

I know there are cheaper alternatives for sale, but this thread (and site) are based on the best price for said product.

There are many many deals on here I would not buy, and I may even buy a cheaper alternative but if it is the best price for that particular item then it's a deal

Nilfisk for me i paid £69 and it's cracking !
