Not the cheapest it's been but a very good reduction on the normal price. Have some heat (or should that be steam!! :p)

Got one of these years ago having been drawn in by a shopping channel. In my defence I was only watching it cos it I was up all night with the new baby and this was all pre netflix! Anyway, in all my experience, they don't work! (well not half as well as advertised!....but then what did I expect!? oO)

I'd go for the next model up. Has continuous steam, and you don't need to stop everytime the water finishes.

My karcher 2500 steam cleaner arrived yesterday. Cleaned the tiles....and both oven doors before I got kicked out the kitchen.

A joy to use because it does work. But with the oven doors....it was years worth of grime so I did need to scrub lightly.

On amazon UK for £230 ish
On amazon Germany for £145 include delivery but you don't get the UK plug,
Or you can buy it from Pixamania for £177... a lot more expensive than the model you've advertised but read the reviews. its awesome

Can you clean a mattress successfully with this? I moved house 3 years ago and dropped the mattress when it was raining. Could do with a clean still on the sides.

I totally disagree mate, i had a VAX steam mop (a top spec one) but wasn't blown away by the power of it (so maybe agree with you there with that machine). But i returned it and got this machine and its brilliant - massive tank - the ability to clean with the flat head and quickly change to the small grout cleaning head is great. Takes a while to warm up and produce steam and not water...for less than a hundred quid its an absolute bargain, and to be honest i have granite tiles throughout my downstairs (Kitchen, hall and toilet) and so gets a lot of heavy use...and i really don't think the model above is needed for normal domestic use.

Anyway hope that helps....

Ahh...just noticed that mine is a hotpoint not Karcher (look almost identical though...particularly as mine has gathered so much dust since the last time I used it LOL). Maybe these are better so I shall reserve judgement!

I didnt have any problems with it and was a shame it broke. but would take the tip of another user get the continuous steam model above version

Kärcher Outlet: £76.99

Lidl's had they branded one 34.99 witch looks the same Still pretty good

I have one of these, lots of good reviews so thought I'd give it ago.
Nowhere near as powerful as the ads would like you to think, and the first time you pull the trigger it sends a jet of hot water out the nozzle. When the steam does start coming out it still spits a lot of water everywhere.
Thought mine was faulty, but the replacement was exactly the same.

Which review Dont Buy....stay away from it

Karcher's SC.1020 cylinder steam cleaner claims to be a model engineered for hygienic deep cleaning without chemicals. It's not suitable for cleaning ovens and it lacks the standard window squeegee accessory commonly found on other steam cleaners - but is it any good at tackling other cleaning jobs? Find out below.

This steam cleaner is difficult to use and delivered either mediocre or poor results across our range of tests. In fact, it cleaned so badly that we've made it a Don't Buy model and recommend you avoid it.

What is it?
This is a cylinder steam cleaner from Karcher. It's suitable for most jobs around the house, and although it doesn't come with a window squeegee like most other cylinder cleaners, you can still use clean windows using the small hand nozzle with the cloth wrapped round the head.

The instruction manual says this model should not be used to clean ovens and there are no instructions on how to clean upholstery, though it does explain how to refresh textiles.

What's it great at?
Our assessment of this cleaner's build quality rated it as excellent. There is very little flex in the plastic tube, so you'd be able to use a fair bit of force to remove a stubborn stain without fear of it snapping, unlike on some other models we've tested. Unfortunately, though, the great build quality does not equate with great cleaning.

Is there anything I should watch out for?
If you're prone to spilling wine on your carpets, you won't find this cleaner helps you remove the evidence particularly well - in fact it could even hinder your attempts. The stain won't be lifted but instead redistributed slightly, and your carpets will still be slightly damp after 24 hours. You may also have to refit the cleaning cloth to the head part way through.

The instructions don't explain how to clean upholstery, and there is no squeegee accessory to cover with a cloth to tackle stains on upholstery - a feature that can be found on other steam cleaners. The instruction manual does say you can use the hand nozzle and cloth for small areas - such as mirrors.

We decided to use the same nozzle covered with a cloth to clean upholstery and if you do the same, turn the steam down to 50% output. Otherwise holding the nozzle becomes unbearable after a short time as your hand will be exposed to the steam. Even using this technique gave very poor cleaning results.

It's also difficult to use. The cloths that you fit over the floor head to clean carpets will bunch up under the head when in use, the pads that go over the small nozzle will become mis-shapen in the wash and it's not that easy to fill and empty the water tank.

The water tank should hold one litre of water, but we found we could only pour in 930ml. This gave only 20 minutes of steam cleaning time. During our durability tests, pressure and steam output dropped after twenty uses.

Is there anything else I should know?
The instruction manual says you should not use this in the oven - we found this to be good advice. If you do use the small brush to clear debris off oven surfaces, you'll find the bristles splay out, and the steam and water produced make it difficult to see what you're doing.

Should I buy it?
No. This steam cleaner is a Don't Buy and should be avoided.

It is worth noting that no cylinder steam cleaner we've tested has yet done well across all of our tests, so we have no Best Buys we can recommend.

We do, however, have Best Buy steam mops, and for the rest of your home there are Best Buy multi-surface and oven cleaners.

Pros: Excellent build quality

Cons: Bad for carpets and upholstery, unsuitable for cleaning ovens, not easy to use, pressure and steam output dropped after repeat use, short steam time
