I am looking at this deal but a lot of people say it stops working after a couple of months and Karcher aren't helpful. Has anybody on here experienced the same issues?

I've had 2. Unfortunately they stopped charging after a few months, seems to be a common fault if you look at reviews

Depends how well you look after it. What happens is water can get inside into the fan motor and cause it to corrode over time - then the fan will just stop spinning.

I took mine apart a handful of times and sprayed some WD40 between the fan and fan motor which saved it and added to it's life. I've had it for 3 years now but the motor needs constant attention so i'm gonna buy another with this experience in mind - try not to get water into the motor / fan system.

Hope this helps

Just ordered wv5 from Karcher £52 free delivery.

Is the wv5 worth the extra money? Does it suffer from the same issues?

Look at my above comment. You can get the WV5 for a lot less.

That's lovely and everything, and obviously thanks for sharing. But does seem like a major flaw, you shouldn't need to be doing this surely.

If John Lewis are out of stock look at wickes and price match plus 10% at b&q with them bud.
I got mine yesterday with no issues.

Yeh it's not great. I wish I could of just bought a new motor for it and soldered it in myself but I could never find the part. It just corroded away and you could even see rust on the outside of the motor housing.

That was a 1st generation model though. This one here is a 2nd generation so I would think maybe the design has improved a little bit since then.

Thanks but that doesnt answer the question about it being worth the extra & if it has the same issues as this 1! Oh & B&Q is £80 now

Thanks, think I'll go for it anyway, and as you say maybe they've addressed that issue with this model. The positive reviews far outweigh the negative so maybe just a quality control issue. Returns should be easy with Amazon anyway, not sure why some of those reviewers struggled, maybe they used a 3rd party seller.

It's not like, it was £19.99 two weeks ago. :-)

I had the 1st generation model and had to bin it, as the on/off switch stayed in the "on" position after a few months. A common problem, I'd found out. I didn't know this about the motor, though. That sounds like a very fundamental design flaw. I ended up buying a Russel Hobbs version for £34, that cam with large and small heads and a spray bottle. Has been excellent and performs way better than the Karcher.

Great price! Does that come with all the accessories that a new one would?

Yeah, 12 month warranty too. They don't come with accererories new or refurb though.

Is the price likely to drop over the coming weeks or after Xmas? This was £32.99 on Friday morning, I put the item in my basket but by the time I got to the checkout the price had changed to £39.99 so I didn't continue with the purchase.

I had to replace my Karcher twice due to various problems which seem very common. Read the Amazon reviews or this site windowvacreview.co.uk to see what I mean however when they work they are bloody fantastic
