Wilko is experiencing a big stock issue, my local Wilko (a big one) has half of their shelves empty since covid days

They nearly went into administration. They sold their main warehouse for £48 million to DHL only for DHL to turn round last week and sell it again for £88 million! (Ouch!) and then they had to get a £40 million loan from Hilko to see them through the year.. If they make it to the end of the year it will only be because they’re using loans to cover the losses… What was annoying is when they lost Lotto they were allowed to spin it as if they got rid of Lotto rather then Camelot removing it because they failed to pay them on time and Camelot were concerned about their finances.

I've had the Vax version for years ....only thing I've ever used it for is getting condensation off a inside window..
Which they are great for (edited)

The Tower window vac is better and available for £25 + delivery direct from them. Tower has more suction power with 20w motor (Karcher is 12w) also Tower has 3yr warrantee with registration. Give Karcher a wide berth,

Mixed reviews on Amazon for the Tower one. Quite a few say it jus stops working/ charging after short while. Giving it a wide berth.

Has the extras being the Plus model but if not needed there are alternatives like ScFix's, TStat's equivalent. They are brilliant and should be part of every household that has any moisture issues. Would not be without ours and we also ensure proper daily ventilation to the property.

I have the screwfix one and it's died within 6 months and they have zero stock to replace it with for some time now. Was great while it worked but definitely not built for longevity and can't use vertically to suck up spills, which I believe you can with this one as it says clean worktops

There's one available in Leek, Staffs.

One in Runcorn available. Yeah rather worrying about the finances of Wilko, my local has also fenced off around a 1/3 of the store, wasn’t much stock in there last week.

Saw one of these on the shelf in my local the other day, but having just "serviced" my one - hope there isn't the need to replace it just yet! Very surprised the motor is so small though - toy car type thing.

My Wilko looks like it's on its last legs. I can't see it surviving

Boscombe branch said online it had two in stock. Took trip down there but none on shelf. In-store system said they had three. Chap search the store room but found none. Looks like their stock system is about as good as B&Qs one. Disappointing.

Have had two Karcher WV70. One still going strong, used nearly every day for a good five years or more. The other battery doesnt charge. Brough two of the Tower ones. One doesnt charge, within a year. The other after one week, randomly turns it self on so battery always flat. Alas cant find receipts. Last week brought the Vileda from Lidl £25. Went back next day. Water pours out and sprayed by the fan. Only worked on perfect vertical which is no good near the sill or velux. I originally said to myself Id never buy a karcher again as the WV70 constantly falls apart and the on/off switch is constantly knocked in use. I know they have been redesigned, and my experience with others leads me back to karcher. Will try the Screwfix Titan one as a last resort first though.

Screwfix one has been out of stock for over a month and I don't think they're getting new stock. Mine died within 6 months and I'm waiting for it to come back in stock so I can exchange it for a new one. Waiting for a karcher to come down in price and I'll get that instead and a refund on the screwfix one. Big down side is you can't use horizontally it starts to gurgle and water drips out
