Was looking for a new pair of heavy wearing boots for work and such and found these. Looks like a good deal especially for hikers and anyone based in Northern Ireland since summer it appears, was last week.

These aren't boots. "Men's Trekking and Hiking Shoes".

Cold, because I called them boots instead of shoes? Really?

£70 is only the suggested price. May or may not have been reduced from that price.

Good price. I have had quite a few pairs of these and whilst Karrimor are not the brand they used to be, they are still pretty good. Wear mine constantly for 6 miles a day and will probably get 6-8 months use out of them before things start to break. Despite the Amazon title mentioning 'Shoes' they are actually mid height and more of a 'boot'.

Owned by Sports Direct. That'll explain the chill in here

This is about the usual price for these, it's what I paid a few months ago.
I only wear them for walking the dog a few miles a day, and they need replacing after 6-9 months
They are waterproof, and I suppose they're worth 25-30 quid but no more

I am relatively new here and have noticed the SD hate around here, can you explain why exactly?

I mean I understand they have perpetual "discounts" which are not "real" discounts but they do sometimes offer some good value for money in my experience and the only time I had an issue with an item bought there they replaced it without any problems...

Because they tempt people less aware than me with overinflated rrps, especially for the company's they own... Dunlop and karrimor plus many more. It's robbery as the vast majority of the gear they sell is owned or are selling at a normal prices you can get elsewhere. All the 50 /90% stuff is rubbish and look closer says up to.
I've had a couple of bargains from there don't get me wrong. I know what I'm looking for and compare prices. You'd think with their pricing and discount signs that everyones a winner. Do a bit of research! You're being fleeced. cheap prices for cheap tat!

cold sorry, get what you pay for.

looks good value to me - how much would these be in say Blacks ? probably alot more !

as for them being shoes, don't think I'd want to drive my car in these !

Blacks wouldn't sell them because Karrimor is OWNED by Sports Direct now. It's the same story as Slazenger etc, most of the crap they sell - it's dirt cheap for a reason and there's a reason it's still profitable to them. Ask a golfer if they buy their golf clubs there, or a cyclist if they buy cycling gear there. No, it's the cheap rubbish for those who aren't willing to pay real money for these things.

I bought a similar pair when I went travelling for a year. Used them for about 2 months, realised what they were (and had a shard of glass poke through the sole), threw them away and spent £100 on a pair of Kathmandu's which are still going very, very strong. Buy twice, cry twice.

'K, didn't realise Karrimor was pwnd(!) by SD
have 2 pairs of shoes/boots by them for a while (>2yrs) & they have been fine & r used regularly

Had these for 2 years would certainally not call them shoes always with there weight and durability there boots, wore them while up a ladder for a few hours last week would have aching legs with shoes.
Not steel toecapped so not suitable for some workplaces.
