Need to walk off the Christmas excess?? This is for you lol

Loads of bargains on sportsdirect.com but this looks like one of the best deals - various colours/styles/sizes - worth a browse.

Hope this helps someone :o)

PS Link takes you to all Karrimor footwear - sort by price (low to high) and you'll get the bargain ones straight up (can't seem to do a link for only the cheap stuff!)

Bought a pair of the £16 ones for £10 in store.. They've all got further reduction in store, and you don't have to pay their exorbitant delivery either

These were never the RRP. SportsDirect own the brand and can put whatever RRP they want on these.

A waste of money, see telegraph.co.uk/fin…tml. SportsDirect buy up household brand names and then create cheap Chinese gear with the once popular brand name stuck on.

yea, I've got some old Karrimor boots , form when it was the genuine Karrimor and they have been really good but I have real doubts about the quality of the newer stuff.

I've got some quality Karrimor gear too from years back, that's why it upsets me to see such a good name be used for this rubbish :x

Honestly, some people are just miserable from the moment they get up in the morning, aren't they? You don't like it, don't shop there. Jesus, most of the stuff you're wearing right now comes from China, you just don't realize it..

good point well put!!!!!

I know where it comes from, it just comes from a decent manufacturer in China :whistling:

The only reason people post about Karrimor is because SportsDirect lure people into this sense of false hope that they are picking up a quality brand when they are not.

These are great value, but a slight bit uncomfortable!

HERE HERE!
:santa:

Interesting, I wondered why the Karrimor trainers I recently bought from M&M only lasted a few months!

I bought some cheap Karrimor trainers about three years ago and they're still going strong. Comfy too! Sorry to buck the trend but I really can't find anything to whnge about here.

Yeah we all know that Karrimor aint the prestigious brand it once was before Sports Direct got their mitts on it... but this is 12 quid for a pair of walking shoes. Which is cheap as chips for any brand.
Incidentally i've had a pair of Sports Direct Karrimor Aspen hiking boots for a while now, only paid slightly more than this deal, yet they are comfortable and seem to be wearing as well as any mid range light hiking boot.

Hot from me.

It's not whinging!

I agree it's a good deal and have given it heat but it's always worth understanding why it's cheap.

Ooooh didn't mean to start a debate!! lol

Didn't know that Karrimor wasn't Karrimor these days so that's interesting (and yes, puts the RRP a bit out really!) but still, £12 isn't bad for walking shoes is it! Depends how much you think you're going to wear them too I suppose...

Anyway, thanks to those that have added some heat

It really is false economy to buy walking shoes like these, not voted either way.

Original Poster

Depends on the person... I'll wear them once in a blue moon so even if they don't last long they'll probably last me a few years lol Better than spending £60-£70 on a 'better' pair in my case. Doubt if I'm the only one that doesn't go hiking all the time!

It might only be £16 but just another £4-5 can oft buy something decent.

Hang on a bit longer.

he he , go easy, i mean this is a forum after all, where we can all air our views. This is exactly what i like about HUK deals , the fact that people will more than likely give more information about the products.

myself personally would still buy a pair of these as they are cheap, but i would of preferred them to be from karrimoor 6 or 7 years ago when they where a quality brand. Just because they come from china doesn not really mean they are not well made, however looking at the general price of karrimoor nowadays you can see they will not be the same quality as they where before karimoor sold up.

take it easy people..........

well said.,

So what about these, which I bought last week:-

sportsdirect.com/ber…131

Thought they were a bargain, or has he bought Berghaus too ??

Sports Direct sell a lot of junk, all that YSL and Golddigga clothing is utter tat! The RRP's are plucked out of thin air!

I think you will be OK there. See en.wikipedia.org/wik…ect for list of brands owned by SD.

Don't believe the hype, this **** was NEVER
"£59.99/£69.99"

I'd never recommend anyone buying walking shoes that they haven't tried on from the internet. You really need to be trying them on in a store, no matter how much you are going to save.

I will not comment on the quality of the price but I will comment on the quality of the shoes. As someone who does a lot of walking in different conditions and places.

1. At best these shoes are only good for walking on flat well marked paths. The ones with ankle support maybe better but I didn't bother trying them after trying these

2. Try before you buy. The inner sole is incredibly thin meaning your feet will feel everything you walk on and the the thick tough but useless tread on the bottom. So unless the sole of your feet are rock hard you wil start to feel pain very quickly.

3. No use for walking in wet weather either, paper shoes will keep the water out as effectively.

Frankly I wouldn't even buy a pair just for walking the dog...

my 2p's worth.

I bought a pair of these 3 weeks ago. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes i've worn in a good while! i've worn only these out in the constant snow we've had, and still have, and not once have i suffered wet feet. not once have i slipped or fallen. money very well spent i reckon.

Yeah, for the 16 quid I paid, I'm assuming 3 or 4 months heavy use [daily walking/driving] then I can see about another pair of different ones that are on offer :o)

H&R added, as I missed this post when I posted mine [spammed myself]
