just be wary and keep a hold of your receipt. Karrimor isn't what it once was - I bought what I deemed a good Karrimor rucksac last summer after my last went through 5+ years of abuse and a zip went after a couple of months. Unless you keep the receipt SportsDirect will not honour (regardless of condition - mine still looked new!) any warranty or replacement.
I bought a Karrimor bag from sports direct about 6 months ago for uni - utter crap. started fraying within a week, then zip broke.
The guy was telling me how Karrimor was bought out a few years ago by a really up market brand and now it's great quality... - Karrimor is owned by sports direct! liar.
On a positive not, the bag is very comfy to ware...
Yes Karrimor are a Sports Direct brand now so you do have to be careful, I bought the 20L version for £8 today which looked quite good only time will tell.
For the price they are great though... just don't expect them to last as long as a £30 bag.

My son needs a new backpack for school, may have to have a look at these, seems like a good price as long as they are not too flimsy.

I had exactly the same experience. Will have to attempt to have the zip replaced by a seamstress at the market, but the bag had hardly been used.
These things will fall apart after any sort of serious use. The old saying "buy cheap, buy twice" definitely applies to Krappimor
