sorted byThis is vastly cheaper than a HUE bulb though. The price difference is so huge that they have to be considered two different classes of device. (edited)
Best is to use any old WiFi router for all IoT works a charm with no loading on main router
No. At least, not yet.
I have had this for ages and it's so good. I do not miss hue.
@op Ordered more, thanks (edited)
Makes no sense for TP-Link to have two Apps for their two ranges considering they're essentially the same when it comes to functionality, not only that you need two accounts also. My only bugbear with their smart bulbs/strips and we have a house full of them.
They plan to "sort it out" by discontinuing Kasa. There are rumours that Kasa device support will be added to the Tapo app but knowing TP-Link they will probably never bother to do that.
So can this be added to an existing Tapo system?
Pros and cons
Kasa doesn't need hub, 1% dimming unlike Hues 5%.
Hue is isn't on off when overriding, Kasa you have to turn off wait then turn on.
But the kicker is I've had 2 kasa bulbs fail thst were a year younger than the hues.
