I have been looking for a new office chair for some time now and have constantly been advised to purchase this chair. It is more than it previously has been in sales but it is still worth the price.
its my first post so i apologise for any mistakes.

I could afford it when I lived in Russia, I had a very nice Chair their. I can not afford it here as UK made me very poor.

This looks near Identical to the one I bought from ebay for £54, the arm snapped after 3 weeks, I contact the seller, instead of sending a replacement arm they sent me a full chair, they said keep the other as a apology, I messaged back saying are you sure and they sent me another chair, I messaged them saying they sent 2 chairs to replace one arm, they messaged back saying it's OK sorry for damaged item, so now I have 3 chairs for £54 so it just goes to show they don't read the messages properly.

"have constantly been advised to purchase this chair." .. was that by the Staples salesman? oO

NO! lol just from forums and reviews etc, all i have read and heard about it was positive.

I had this chair.

I bought it from staples ages ago for about £50. It broke after a couple of months - it has a design flaw where the top screws which hold the arm rest to the back of the chair come loose, and since that's all that holds the back up, the back works itself loose.

I bought one of these chairs 5 years ago, although it's in a different colour, and I've been incredibly pleased with it, very supportive and comfortable, and has been ideal for lengthy sitting in.

I expect the bad reviews are from people who are too heavy for it

it seems like most people are not willing to pay over £100 for a office chair, they would rather pay next to nothing and have to replace it again in a few months. Now im not saying this is the best office chair ever invented but it is a hell of a lot better then half the crap iv seen people buy.
quality wise it is suppose to be one of the best and its so bloody comfy

I agree with you - and this has been an issue on hotdeals for a while. Expensive chairs generally do very badly vote wise -- even though a really good chair can stop all sorts of trouble later on.

My problem is Staples really. I got one chair from them 15 years ago and it lasted 13 years - and could have continued for a bit longer but i wanted to upgrade. That chair is now discontinued by Staples. The replacement lasted 10 months. The replacement of the replacement is 6 months old and already the hold position doesn't work. Everything was put together the same as the first chair.

It just seems that things that still cost the same no longer have the same quality. I hope this chair is different.

yeah staples is very hit and miss with there products some are great quality and for the same price the quality of others can be terrible . that's why i did a lot of research before purchasing the chair. you would think by the negative feedback i was posting herman miller priced chairs though.... but no

I'm 10 stone and my one of these broke, so I'd politely suggest you keep your comments to yourself.

Ultimately for £140 there are far better built chairs out there.
