Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 - 3 Users - 1 Year.

Just download newest version from Kaspersky site and use code in box to activate.

£3.33 per PC for a year cant be bad.

And yes we all know there are half decent AV's out there that can be downloaded free and that you can get this free if you bank with Barclays. I however dont bank with Barclays and like Kaspersky and the other features it offers (Parental protection and the like).

Also please note this is Kaspersky "Internet Security" not just Kaspersky "Antivirus".

dont forget barclays and hsbc give you free av k and mcafee

thankyou great deal kis2011

In case you don't know: you can get KIS2011, 3 license if you have Barclays Internet banking setup.

free with microsoft security essentials..

used to love kaspersky, but prefers avast 6 free nowadays.
nevertheless this is a good deal.

Great price - heat.

Remember though if you are a barclays customer though you can get the latest version for free through online banking, not sure if other banks provide free AV as well.

Got mine free with Barclays Online Banking anyway.

Good deal

i've been using microsoft security essentials on my laptop and it had several virus's that it didn't find but i installed the free trial of kaspersky and it found them and got rid of them. They were something to do with the rootkit i think ???

i've always liked kaspersky but stopped using it last year because it seemed to slow my computer down but the 2011 version does seem better so i might go for this deal.

HOT

Being a big Kaspersky fan I need to vote this hot. Been using their internet security suite since about '07, but being brutally and perfectly honest I feel it's slipping. I remember back to a point where Norton was actually fairly decent, then became too commercial, bloated and horrible. I just hope Kaspersky's not going the same way but 2011's GUI is much more confusing than 2008's for instance, and feels much more sluggish. 2007/2008 was their most solid suite to date - since then it's GUI's been getting needlessly fancier, slower and confusing. But that may just be me?

Still though, it is imo the best of the paid suites out there. OP, be warned you'll get loads of cold votes from the Avira and AVG users and I can understand why, but it's an abuse of the voting system. Mehhh...

can you get this free if you have a barclays account?

Microsoft Security Essentials is all you need.

The Works are selling KIS 2009 for £5.99. I bought a 5 user,1 year licence pack only the other day.

the key works for the 2011 version its great, ordered thanks.

Don't care for the freebies out there, unless its fedora beefed up with tripwire and snort of course (_;)

got kaspersky pure for £17.99 at play earlier on, 3 pcs. but this is a good deal too

Banned

Rate this second, only behind the mighty eset nod32.

Although at this price, it can't really be sniffed at. Hot.

Different seller - Different price............ Not quite sure how that counts as being posted already?

Not everyone has or wants a Barclays account! As for Microsoft Security Essentials, the clue of its effectiveness is in the name = Essentials. Kaspersky is far more powerful than MSE, like it or not!

If the clue to its effectiveness were in the name - then its a "must have"
Essential means Vital/necessary. not "less powerful"!

MSE is all you need, and its free, and it will continue to improve. If you're a security freak, and want to be safer, you'd already behave safely online and with media and not get viurses. I've had MSE since its release, and I've not had a single virus. People that don't know how to avoid viruses are going to find it extremely hard to understand or correctly use the extra functions Kapersky offers. A free and more simple product would likely be much more suitable, and I'd highly recommend Microsoft security essentials:

Be interested to know how you knew the laptop had viruses in the first place? And if you did a full system scan with MSE? Also be good to know when this was, MSE like Kapersky has improved over the last year with MSE releasing version 2.0, and AFAIK Kapersky has a much higher "false positive" rate than MSE, finding viruses where there are none.

Also, some info about MSE and rootkits here:

answers.microsoft.com/en-…e83

Not saying Kapersky is bad in anyway, just unneccessary for the vast majority of users and comparitively expensive.

I got this from the same Amazon Marketplace seller a couple of weeks back. Fast delivery and no problems at all....just in case anyone was not too keen on buying from Marketplace.

MSE is fine if you dont mind microsoft spying on you via the software, its hidden in the T&C that everyone agrees to

spies on me? really? Like, knows all my ID, sees me naked, etc....OMG!

No, I think you'll find it just sends back info about viruses and iffy programs so it can perform better...and Microsoft have to be far more accountable than any third party software..

i knew i had a virus because it changed my desktop picture into a "warning you are infected blah blah blah" . Also it was re-directing me to websites etc. I couldn't run Malwarebytes because it was preventing it from running.
i did a full system scan with MSE and it found nothing so i installed kaspersky and it found them and cleaned them up.

bit of a naive way of looking at it I suppose, but

Microsoft is not only collecting data pertaining to pests with the help of its SpyNet community, but also about your Windows. If you are using Windows Defender or the anti-virus program Microsoft Security Essentials, you are automatically being party to the Microsoft SpyNet. You want to stop that as far as possible without having to stop using the tools.
If you just use Windows Defender in the system, you can deactivate SpyNet in the options. For opening the program, type 'Defender' in the search field of the start menu and click the displayed program entry. Click 'Tools' there and then the 'Microsoft SpyNet' link. Select the 'I do not join Microsoft SpyNet at this time' option in the following dialog box and confirm this setting by clicking 'Save'.
On the other hand, if you use Microsoft Security Essentials, you can stop the data transmission to SpyNet with just a registry entry. For that, type 'regedit' in the search field of the start menu and press Enter. Confirm the user account, confirm with 'Yes'. You now have the option to stop sending the error reports.
For that, Navigate to the 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Essentials' key. Then click in the right side of the window and open
Edit | New | String'. Enter the 'DisableGenericReports' term and press Enter. The type and value of this entry are arbitrary. The membership completely deactivates another undocumented value in SpyNet.
However, this can result in functional limitation in the program and is hence not recommended. Navigate to the 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\SpyNet' key for this method. Then right click the 'SpyNet' key and select the 'Authorizations' context command. Then click 'Advanced', change to the 'Owner' tab and click 'Administrator' and finally confirm this change with 'Accept' as well as 'OK'.
Now activate the option for 'Full access' in the 'Allow' column. Confirm even this setting with 'Accept' and 'OK'. Now double click the 'SpyNetReporting' DWORD value in the right window area. Change it to '0' to end the membership in SpyNet. Confirm the change with 'OK' and close the registry.

if they can send back info on potential threats, what else can they send back info on?
which websites you use etc?
the fact its called Spynet for a start!!!
