this seems damn dear - normally 3 users for a year for about a tenner and most kaspersky keys work on the newest releases ie 2011, voted very cold.

OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Buy a 1 user code off ebay for £5.00 or less.
Then download trial version of kaspersky.
Apply code all done.
Also Barclays bank give 3 user free to account holder.
Thant what i did.
Just downloaded newest version and used code.

How do you vote 'very cold' I can only see hot and cold ?

Original Poster

Yes I know the price of all the other versions and that you can buy codes of ebay. But if someone is looking for a good deal on the new 2011. This is it. I did however find it even cheaper at 7dayshop. same price but for 3 users..

apologies - just a figure of speech as it was such a rotten deal

Just got rid of Kaspersky, it slowed my computer too much. Much faster now I have free AVG.

hahahahhahahahahahahahahahha
you'll be RIDDLED with viruses and false positives in no time.

love avg. hated kapersky. got rid of mines i got free of Barclays.

Cant understand anybody paying for internet security.

Get Avast - free, and uses very little resource

Cant understand anybody paying for internet security.

cos some people understand that a business NEEDS money to survive and if they do a free antivirus its for marketing purposes, not cos they like you.

free security is basic and limited.
if you buy and bank online, its often not enough for your bank to support you if you get ripped off online.

I used to pay for my security but no more.

I got the free MSE and never have had one virus or one problem, very fast and light, and it beat a lot of paid security programs

peterwain

Cant understand anybody paying for internet security.

I get asked that kinda question everyday. You get what you paid for. These kind of users only regret when they got nasty virus on their computers. They didn't know free av is just a little protection for their computers.

almost every single virus related post on here is from someone using a free av

Can anyone confirm what slackrat77 is stating. Does free AVG not actually work ?

I love you skinflints, you all make me alot of money when your PC's come in for repair. All the same old excuses: my son did it (xxx), a friend recommended a free security suite, etc. Everyone crying about lost pictures, music, email, make for great data recovery costs. Need your PC rebuilt because it got so corrupted it will not run, but lost the original software disks, more cost.
In short just buy a decent SECURITY SUITE and save yourself alot of money in the long run.

Would you trust someone that offered to cut you a spare set of keys for your house for free with no visible strings attached, I think not, I rest my case.

thats cos AVG free offers very little protection (see misc for all the victims with viruses from AVG)

its rubbish - some guy had 73 viruses on his PC yesterday that AVG had let happily run in the background. Only noticed the problems when switched to kaspersky!

had a customer who had money taken from her bank account and she had avg free on her machine. barclays then sent her kaspersky full internet security for free (normally only for new customers), her son who was 'a real computer whizz kid' said avg was better and told her not to use kaspersky.

her son has no frickin clue.

you get what you pay for and if you don't pay, you've got no comebacks.
you get virus updates less often, no real time protection of your system, nag screens to buy the full version.
BASIC LEVEL.

Warning:- Upgrading to Kaspersky 2011 from an earlier version could result in all USB ports being disabled. ( help2go.com/for…tml , ispreview.co.uk/tal…245 )

I'd recommend downloading Kavremover.exe from the Kaspersky site, boot into safe mode (no network connection), run kavremover and select the option to remove all kaspersky software, and boot back into normal mode before installing 2011.

I recently did the same, Kaspersky 2011 slow my PC down too much, and disabled my PC's USB ports - fortunately my keyboard and mouse don't use the USB ports.

I don't rate AVG very highly, but I don't consider the risk to me as very high. In all the years using computers, I've only ever had one instance of an anti-virus program detecting something running on my PC that I couldn't positively identify as a false positive, and in that case the program I was using didn't provide any information before killing the process, and kaspersky and other av scanners found nothing on the hard disk.

Mr Slack, I don`t know where you are coming from but, I have Avasti, FREE, and I have Malwarebytes FREE and do you know what? I have had no problems at all. When I`ve been attacked or had a malware added when visiting sites, these two programmes have dealt with them NASTIES very adequately and efficiently!

Once when I visited Bruce Lee sites, I got 18 malwares NASTIES added for my pains, but Malwarebytes got rid of them all.

how do you know your free one got rid of them all and didnt leave any behind?
you get what you pay for.
all of them do a premium and a free version. if the free version was so good, why would they try to sell a premium one?
cos it only offers a basic level of security.

its common business practice to try to earn money, right?
so why offer a free sample program?
cos it offers a limited amount of features.

but every single post about internet security on here end up this way.
i will reiterate, almost every single virus infection thread on here is from a user with a free av.
coincidence?

Basically, because I`ve no malware, viruses now. Avasti for "Home use" is a full version but not the "Pro version" minimal difference between the two. And malwarebytes "Free version" doesn`t have "Perform flash scan" very minimal as well. For years now I`ve only had these two programmes, and, they are very effective together against malware, and viruses. The only thing I`ve bought regarding security is Surft Secret, which I bought for(I think) $75 dollars with FREE life time upgrades.

i did same long time ago but if you looking to buy kaspersky 2011, it's very good price.
check your settings (in Personal Cabinet online) it will show up like kaspersky 2009 key. so more people know about it, the faster they will ban these keys for certain versions of kaspersky. and we will be using kaspersky2009, and other people will be buying at argos @ £19.99 kaspersky 2011.
and at that point temperature will rise like you never know. anyway, just wanted to mension, good price

How do you KNOW?

Being i`ve been computing now for many a year, and if you have a virus, or malware i would notice or maybe now it`s because Newcastle Utd beat Villa 6.0 that did the trick, and scared all them malware and viruses away. Either way, I have none. And i know i`ve none.
