I have no problems with this at all. Its using 49MB of RAM at the moment.

Mobile and PC version free from Barclays, just open an account with a £1, job done!

RAM usage is between several MB standby to a couple of hundread during scanning. However, CPU usage often is found randomly to go up to 100% for quite some time. Only thing I can do is a cold re-set/disconnect as it does not allow you to kill the processes. There are quite a few complaints on various forums.

Most of which also say to use Avast, which I find awkward, slow and not that stable
Either way, the free versions (Kaspersky...) are ok to use for short periods of time, I use MS Security essentials at all other times

If your with Barclays...it`s free

that says more about your pc more than the kaspersky program, my old pc used to struggle(at the end of it's 'life cycle' was fine at start, a reinstall of windows seems to help) but my current pc has no issues. dad's netbook with 1gb of ram doesn't allow you to do anything when running the scan.

Kaspersky Pure CPU load does spike during updates otherwise i find it fine on a quad core i5

Its still my choice as it is the most configurable suite available.

Thats what I thought, so I upgraded the Ram and hardrive, the CPU is very powerful. The laptop works flawlessly with Surgeon Simulator and other games as long as I turn off Kaspersky. I did fresh-wipe the hardrive and tried it without any large programs. Same thing happens. I'm not the only one, looking at the antivirus forums so its not the laptop -although every company boy will say that as they cannot understand the concept of responsibility. This is a great program but as I've said its one of those temporary use it when you need it programs, use something else which has a smaller footprint like eSet or even MS Security suite which is pretty good!

Always back up your data in three places, at least one which is locked!

Kaspersky used to be great as it was small and didn't come with lots of addon rubbish. It had a basic looking interface but I preferred that. It's a shame if it has become bloated.

I use avast now and can't say it's slow or unstable even though I have lots of software installed. I can't recall it ever crashing.

2 pc & mobile licence £10 from zavvi (and theres an offer inside the dvd case to upgrade to 3 pc for an extra £1 Doing this makes each licence £3.67 each... Remember to remove auto renewal on Kaspersky site.

Just d/l the 2013 version from Kaspersky and the apply the licence code.. It works
