Kaspersky Security Suite Version 7 - 6 Month Free Trial

Full Internet Security Suite, this highly rated security suite is being offered as a free trial by Kaspersky themselves for 180 days, they normally offer the option to purchase at a reduced rate at the end of the 6 month term.
Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Firewall/Intrusion Protection, Anti Spam, Anti Dialler, Parental Controls, Anti Hacker, PC Pro's favored Suite.

I have used this product for quite sometime, and recommend it consistently, outperforms Norton and McAfee, low on system resources and the highest rated detection of malware, highly recommended in every test and magazine.

This latest version offers enhancements over version 6, try it you will not be disappointed.

Good spot, voted hot.

I've a 6 month free trial of version 6 which expires in two months.

I know everyone has their fav virus/firewall but Kasperky is the best IMO.

Top, Top deal Agent_Silver.

Good find

I've been running AVG free for years but I might give this a try.

Voted Hot, just what i need. How many PC's can you install it on?

Voted hot. At work we recently did an eval of security suites to go on our laptops and Kaspersky pretty much won hands down, though it's firewall isn't as configurable as some.

As far as I can tell your trial should auto upgrade to the latest version until the end of your term....good luck

Update:
kaspersky.co.uk/upg…ade

Ensure you download the correct product e.g. if you have Antivirus 6 then download Antivirus 7. You pick any server to download from and choose to save file to somewhere you can find it – My Documents is fine.

Note:

We recommend that you uninstall the existing version first and before installing version 7 to prevent any possible errors.

To do this:

1. Right click on current K icon by the clock and choose Exit.
2. Then go to Start->Control Panel ->Add/remove programs
3. Uninstall current Kaspersky program by pressing “Change/remove” button, when you get the option to retain Activation code and your settings please tick appropriate boxes.
4. Follow wizard through and press Finish at end to restart pc.
5. Run the new file as per Step 2 below.

Nice one Been using AVG Free (anti-virus and anti-spyware) with standard XP firewall but am now going to try this.

I think this is a single user licence, however, it appears to be email address led for the link and licence key, which leads me to think you can use it several times if you have several email accounts.

I get this when i fill in the online form?

Does this work with vista?

ahh, had to tick that i wanted to receive the online safety thing, then it worked

Yes it does,

Nice one. I've been very impressed with Kaspersky previously.

Anybody had there keys yet ?

Hi, Good find. Used AVG/ZoneLabs Zone Alarm for as long as I can remember after deciding that I no longer wanted to continue renewing subscription to Norton which was very expensive. Worth giving this a try.

Voted hot.

Nope, still waiting.

Strange when I clicked to download it was version 7.0.0.124 when the version I have is 7.0.0.125.

Only want my key for a backup but still waiting aswell.

nice find, voted hot

anyone got their code yet...I could really do with mine, so I can get rid of McAfee off my new PC!

I just installed it and selected the Trial option which gave me 30 days.

As soon as you get the key, you can enter it which will extend it to 180 days. Nice.

so whats the best, safest ,non problematic way of doing this
download kapersky then uninstall avg or other way round? many thanks

Voted hot. Kaspersky is renowned in the security world for their outstanding anti virus. I never have tried the security suite as I use a third party dedicated firewall however from what I have heard they have really beefed up their firewall after the disappointment of version 6 last year.

For anyone who is speculating upgrading to this security suite, there is no point holding back. One you go Kaspersky you never go back xD

I tried it yesterday and it SLOWED my system considerably, so I have uninstalled it and gone back to AntiVir Classic (which is free).

It is always best to completely uninstall any antivirus or security software product before installing a new one.

Your system won't be at all happy trying to run two together.

Some advice for users.

I have tried Norton 360, ZoneAlarm 6.0/7.0, Mcafee and they all slooooooooowed my system down a huge amount the system became un-usable. This was even after installing them and updated them and doing mutiple reboots. As a result, i ended up uninstalling them and waiting for Kaspersky 7.0 to be released.

I yesterday downloaded installed it. After rebooting my machine, i took over 6 minutes to load the desktop after i've logged in. I just thought dejavu again and will be really stuck now on what else to use/try.

However, i waited and completed all the kaspersky updates and the initialisation processes. After that, it all works fine and hardly hogging up any system resources.

My vista system boot in about 20 seconds and is considerably faster using Kaspersly over AVG. I think i will be keeping it for the forseeable future as it loads much quicker then any other AV i've used!

A bit worrying that the Kaspersky site says the v7.0 annual license code (for 1 PC) is £40. When the 6-month trial is up, does anyone know what their "special offer" price is, to continue using the software for the next 12 months ?

Note that Aria.co.uk (whose customer service is pretty awful, from my experiences with them), sells the 1-year OEM version of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 for £11.69 inc VAT. But don't all rush at once... they're out of stock right now.

They do have the Kaspersky Internet Security v6 OEM in stock for £11.16 though, or £7.04 in their "very limited Super Specials offer". Aria Quickcode 24068.

I have noticed that Kaspersky slows down browsing as it takes more time to scan files on the fly compared to Antivir or AVG. On the plus side, it's virus detection is much more capable than the free options.

You can disable the web scanning module. I have disabled both web scanning and mail scanning modules since V6 was released (this is in the AV not Secuirity Suite) as they render some third party firewalls useless when enabled. I don't see any use for both these modules to be honest they only stop viruses before they can get onto your computer but once you have a virus on your HDD the file scanning module would pick virus up anyway.

thanks for the tip. still no sign of the license key though :?

same here still waiting for the key and when you visit there site they only have the 30 day trial.

The original link still takes you to a page which offers Kaspersky Internet Security free for 180 days.

I have emailed them today to ask about the licence key, will let you know their reply, too good a reputation not to honour it.
Mark

I am sure I read somewhere on their site that the licence keys wouldn't be sent out until after 1st August... and it is still only the 2nd!

Perhaps Version 7 got delayed slightly, and they are just waiting for it's official release.

I've still got a licence for KAV v6 until 5/01/08.

I'm going to download and try out v7 for now but the 6 month offer doesn't really benefit me. Only hope that the offer for upgrading in January is good (last year they did a 2 for 1 offer).

Original Poster

I installed this over an existing trial of KIS6, using the option to retain key and it installed perfectly, didn't notice any performance difference last night, noticed they have added a rootkit scan.
With regards to discounts for the products in the past they have advertised everything from 30% in PCPro to 50% in computeractive, just keep an eye on the forums.

still no key sniff

anybody had a key yet?

Nope still waiting for mine.

still waiting sniff

wont upgrade my version 6 until i have the key methinks
