No he's not, I beat Ganondorf with him just the other day.

Only £5.99 for me

I'm jealous as I'm not a Barclays customer but have some heat as it's a cracking price for those lucky enough to get it.

Licence donations gratefully accepted though

£5.99 for me too, bought using mums banking details, but paid and setup in my name, also with the option to use paypal for payment too

HOT

thanks OP

A stupidly hot deal

what banks are not evil now? Blood/sperm banks?

I got Kaspersky via my Barclays current account. I assumed it would be brilliant. It was awful on my Intel Atom tablet.

I have since switched to Avast Free edition - and it is absolutely brilliant by comparison. Just switch on gaming mode and you never see a pop-up or hear anything. More importantly, it does much quicker scans, and it never slows down the PC. The interface is much nicer too.

I guess Kaspersky is good if you have a PC with more muscle. But I would never recommend it (and I have since uninstalled Kaspersky from the 2 other computers I stuck it on).

Never paid for antivirus/internet security and not had a problem since sasser which was about 10 years ago.

I'm genuinely interested in why people need to pay for it.

The reason is plenty of people are dumb enough to get malware. I'd recommend using Adblock and something along the lines of spywareblaster to block bad domains. The paid version of MBAM is pretty good to run along side an antivirus app.

I'd also recommend unchecky.com/ as most people end up with malware because it came with some free app they were installing. Unchecky will tell you when unwanted programs are trying to install when you're installing a program.

No need to pay- everything that Kasperspy does is achievable for free- just spend a bit of time researching online. Avast Free coupled with an ad blocker is a good start

Good recommendation. I've just installed unchecky

Can someone explain to me if Multi-device 5 devices means I can you use it on say, for example: my desktop machine, my laptop, my phone and give another pc/laptop license to my sister for her laptop? I dont understand the licensing structure of it i.e the "devices"

I am just better off getting the 3 free PC license one istead?

P.s. does it support windows phones?

Windows Phone (like iOS) doesn't need antivirus protection.

I just use the built in AV in windows - almost everything else brings a modest PC to its knees. I occasionally run Malwarebytes & never seem to have any issues.
I used to use AVG Free - but when I got infected by some nasties when I used some dodgy keygen program it totally failed.

I used to use Windows Defender. However, they have really let that programme slip. It no longer even passes the most rudimentary of security tests. It also (on my Atom Z3740 tablet) has a habit of bringing the system to its knees.

If you ever decide to look elsewhere for AV, Avast is the only one I've found that works without any glitches on a low end computer. It also provides protection against malicious URL's etc...which was a nice perk vs Defender.

If you do install it, switch on 'gaming mode'. You'll never even know it's running (no pop-ups or anything else!). The only time you'll see it is if you go to an infected URL, or download something dodgy!

The competition will give you Total Security free for 6 months. bitdefender.com/med…ts/

I've tried Avast in the past (sounds like a song) but maybe should give it another go as Microsoft's offering does seem to hog resources of late (Antimalware Executable).

Yup...that's the one. Antimalware executable - a constant irritation until I ditched Defender!

If you do install Avast, make sure you do a custom install and just install the core scanners. Otherwise you'll end up with all of the pointless things like 'grimefighter' !

Are they free any more?
It used to be free for me a couple years ago ... I will check it tomorrow.

"Kaspersky Internet Security 2015" is free but not this by OP.

Don't expect any change in Windows 10 - still a resource hog.

I just checked. "Kaspersky Internet Security 2015" is free but not "Kaspersky Total Security Multi-Device"

Second you on that point.

Is the Kaspersky Total Security - Multi-Device for only £7.99 per year for 5 devices as well?

A) you don't need a firewall
B) if you want one there are plenty that are free
