Kathmandu make some great stuff - have a fair bit, some of it now quite a few years old. Eco-responsible too, would recommend at this price when compared to similar brands (patagonia, berghaus, rab, north face, etc)
I have a 700 fill power Rab coat that’s remarkably warm. Warmest coat I’ve owned. Way warmer than a north face jacket that’s 3x the weight.

This is 550 fill power, I imagine it will be warm-ish. But personally I’d imagine this would be better suited to Spring/Autumn.

How much were they before?

How warm are these? Warm enough over a t-shirt and light sweater in these days of 5 deg C?

You really have to own one and there are variables, as a guide 500 to 900 good to excellent fill power and down to feather ratio, more down is better.

It's 550 fill power. Not much. I have 650 and still need 3 layers underneath it

Not getting my money after reading those reviews. Might look at what Paul mentioned with the 700 Rab

Cheers, £50 saved there....
550 fill is enough for the winters in this country if you wear a few layers underneath
Jacket looks alright, but not sure not about the hood, shame they were too tight to stick a model inside it in the photos to give me a better perspective.
Nice jacket, not really a deal it is on ebay for less
I found Kathmandu to be very similar to trespass. Always have some sort of huge sale on and a nightmare to get stuff that fits well but in the end gets the job done.
found this review on the Heli jacket -

Bought a heli men's feather down jacket. Not even 2 weeks the feathers keep coming out all over the jacket. We came to the shop today to return it. First, we talked to a young staff who didn't know how to solve the problem so she call her assistant store manager. She told us it's a pretty normal thing and gave us a very long lecture about down feather jacket, and refused to give us a refund. Upon buying the product, no one has ever told us to be aware of these kinds of feathers down jacket, nor the product label says the feathers will come out all over your jacket. Such a pooor quality product for expensive price!!

Feather loss happens with all down jackets. Not voted either way but there are usually offers for 700 to 900 fill on offer regularly for a few pounds more. Got a 700 fill Mountain Warehouse one for £55 which is very warm (and losses feathers!).
My down filled Gilet has lost a single feather this season.... my down pillows not a single feather - if they use the correct materials, there is no reason to regularly lose feathers from any garment, maybe the odd one or two in a year but no more. Have a read about "Ticking" fabrics.

What kinda gilet you got bro? I was looking at a kathmandu one heli vest
Need some warm clothes for my trip to Switzerland next week. Has anyone tried the range from Decathlon? Need something cheap

They have one without the hood
I got mine yesterday.

Today it's 6'C in London and I was warm with the jacket and a sweater . I have a big winter coat that i was wearing but it was so heavy. This is light. 550 down is nothing special in the warmth department but I will use this mainly in autumn/spring.
The reviews about feather loss is interesting. I haven't noticed it that much. We will see.

For £50. It's a bargain.
