That's quite funny

Better than watching Eastenders

"They've got a nice TV in there, I can see how bright it is. Must be one of those new 4K ones; Let's nick it!"

"Oh.... it's just a light.... Better smash the place up instead then"

Yes, let's break in while it looks like someone is in there watching the telly.

X) Much prefer the thieves to burn the house down then get a brand new house rebuilt.

How about having a real working alarm fitted if you don't already have one...

No need for a TV license with one of these

You obviously don't have much experience with insurance companies.

How about making it look like someone is home so no-one breaks in in the first place, rather than have to get your locks replaced after they break in and leg it when your alarm goes off.

What? Are you telling me you can't see value in a cheap deterrent? A 'real working' alarm only becomes useful once you've been broken into (if they don't disarm it). One of these could help ensure that your 'real working' alarm is never tested in a 'real working' burglary situation. It's better not to get broken into in the first place after all.

I don't wanna cause "alarm"

I'd say an alarm with visible bell box and window stickers would be a much better detergent than a flickering light. Remember not all break in's happen at night and the tactics used these days usually involve chapping your door before breaking in.
I do see the value in this but wouldn't rely on it alone.

'cept some people (Sky viewers) will think the transmission output is similar.

Yeh but if you have one of these and a tv troll comes round to check theyll fit you up in court for a 1K fine .

Yea, do that.
That's going to work if they sit there watching your house for people leaving.

Depends on the policy covered. Look at the small print at what your covered for.

Expensive for detergent!

Burglars are generally opportunists, mainly entering homes that appear unoccupied and/or have poor security. For example, leaving a window open at night. It's very rare that a burglar will spend any length of time running surveillance and noting occupant movements before they do their thing. Have you been watching too much CSI?

As an extra security step this seems a decent idea. All police forces recommend leaving lights on a timer when you're away. Adding something like this to the mix will only help prevent burglaries. Of course it's not a replacement for a decent alarm and locks, but every little helps.

NOT expired ... doesn't start till Monday 27th January!!

I've picked one of these up today to add to my other home security kit.

Picked one up yesterday. I'd give you some heat if some tit hadn't expired the deal!
