Went into Sainsburys just now £1.57 too. (BTW, the great taste is the sugary syrup so you can also try maple syrup, golden syrup, corn syrup etc and stir in with milk to eat with cheap cornflakes.)

Yes

This is ridiculous - stop putting these things on offer Tesco! I have a rule that I only buy them when they're on offer so I don't have them all the time as they're not exactly healthy. Yet lately they always seem to be on offer!

I stock up every few months on these. Although I feel a bit weird buying more than 2 at a time haha

By yes, I meant nationally. I have no idea what their smaller stores will charge

I hate Tesco Express. They often have differently prices (almost always higher) and the ones in near me always put things on wrong labels. I only get to know I paid much higher than I thought when I get home.

It's because Tesco Express stores are more like a Convenience Store, so the prices will generally be higher.

They're nutty

Full of sugar! This was one of my favourites and until I found out how bad it was for you.

Less than 3 teaspoons in the cereal. The milk adds more than 50% of that to the sugar content. So a typical bowl is about 18g which is about the same as eating a large orange.

Some people have full English breakfasts every morning which are much worse so don't worry about 1 bowl of sweet cereal especially if you enjoy it. Moderation etc.

This cereal is way too high in sugar, might as well eat chocolate fudge cake, a 30 gram serving of this cereal contains 17 g. A full fried breakfast is a healthier choice....According to this

Gonna stick with the muesli.

Diet advice from the daily mail? Really? This professional dietician exaggerates the amount of sugar, 17g of sugar is not 7 teaspoons for example.

A portion of coco pops or crunchy nut is one to avoid because of 17g of sugar, even though 6g of this is from the milk and is rated 0 out of 10. A portion of museli and yogurt with compote has 15g of sugar but is rated 9/10 because the compote adds vitamin C and fibre. Sorry but 15g of sugar isn't much lower than 17g regardless of a bit of vitamin C and fibre.

How can a full fried breakfast be healthier? The sheer number of calories, fat and salt would easily outweigh a few teaspoons of sugar. The article itself mentions 2 rashers of bacon a day increases risk of heart disease by 40%.

And so the public health crusade against sugar continues. Mini rant over! X)

The joint author of the article Angela Tella is an honours graduate of King’s College London a registered dietitian and a consultant with the department of health and the NHS.
I think I'll take her word for it.

Some people really take the sugar thing too seriously. Life is too short to cut out your fave foods due to sugar. I choose to die happy.

I bought some at my local Tesco Express this morning and they were marked up as half price, however, the boxes were only 500 g and I paid £1.41 for them.

Look at the calorie nutjobs having a quick one over a bit of sugar, heres a small and insignificant fact for you to digest the human race has been perfectly fine for millennia eating every diet possible , high sugar , high fat , low fat , lots of meat, no meat and guess what ? we're still here ................................................ in history outside of old age the biggest killer of us has been bacterial infections due to poor hygiene not food and certainly not stuffing our faces with a bit of nice stuff instead of dried dog turds called bran.

My Nan died age 86 ate fish and chips from the chippy twice a week had a fried breakfast nearly every day and smoked like a chimney, skinny as a rake , she died from an infection she caught in hospital.
Step dad , ate anything he felt like, owned bakeries for 50 years ate every type of cake loved crunchy nut cornflakes , died from an infection he caught in hospital.

Auntie , fitness instructor and dietitian , died age 55 from a massive heart attack , she had been the Dr's a week before for a full medical and received the all clear.

I could go on and list the people ive known who led fit and healthy lives who died too young and then go on and name a full social club full of heavy drinkers and smokers who are well into their 80's but i doubt it will make a difference.

Some people just want to nag you to death.

Thanks!
