Clint Eastwood stars in this wartime comedy-adventure as a U.S. Army lieutenant-busted down to private-who leads a ragtag band of soldiers on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. With Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O'Connor, Gavin MacLeod, and Donald Sutherland as a proto-hippie tank driver. 143 min.

one step closer to a uhd of this..

" Andrew Carter of @Clint_Movies on Twitter has revealed that director Clint Eastwood has approved new 4K remasters of all of the Dirty Harry movies, as well as Where Eagles Dare, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Kelly’s Heroes. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is already announced by Kino Lorber Studio Classics for release sometime in 2023. It’s still TBD as to when the others might arrive on Ultra HD, particularly the Dirty Harry films (which would be from Warner, though they aren’t currently on the 4K slate for 2023). "
If there's no date yet for Kelly's on 4K got a bad feeling it won't be until this time next year. At least we know it'll happen eventually.

Saw that Cameron finally confirmed that The Abyss is going 4K soon.

After he didn't even approve it being released on blu-ray up to this point.

It's a great film all right - just seems quite a lot of money for 1 old film, I suppose that's because it's Blu-ray but you won't be getting Blu-ray quality, will you? Wouldn't it be best to buy (say) Clint Eastwood - 35 Films 35 Years (DVD) for about £23, Ebay or CEX?

I've seen it a few times and don't need a library of old films, happy to (maybe) see it again on TV when it comes around every few years.
It's all a matter of taste. As far as picture quality goes here's from the blu-ray.com site review:

Though this doesn't appear to be a full-blown restoration, longtime fans of the film will appreciate the refined colors, greater detail, and overall crispness of Warner's transfer over its DVD counterpart.
