I've had one in the past and it was ok, not great, but ok.

£8 is well worth it though, the Morrisons cheap one was £7 so worth the extra £1 for this

If you want a real wok, get the carbon steel ones from a Chinese cash & carry for about £7 - £8. Its not teflon coated, but becomes non-stick when seasoned properly. A teflon covered wok does not get hot enough to do what a wok is meant to do .. ie cook food at very high temperatures, very quickly. Hence, it has no benefit over a traditional flat skillet, apart from the food not spilling over so easily when stir frying.

:thumbsup:Great price, I would have got it if I hadn't just bought a wok in Wilkinsons for £2.50

this thread is making me hungry.

I bought this from Sainsbury just before Christmas, its an ok wok, utinsles are good however the bowls are just plastic and rather cheap. But you cant complain for the price,

Ever wondered if Ken Hom had be more adept at marketing we could all be calling Woks Ken Homs? Missed opportunity there...

George Foreman is a genius in this respect

I was amazed how many grills had been sold by George Foreman (80 MILLION as of 2007 if wikipedia is right).

Wonder how many ended up at the back of the cupboard or on the council tip (like mine)?

Ken Hom has of course lent his name to the Tesco ready made chinese meal range, but in all honesty I don't think he would eat them himself.

The celebrity endorser I like the best is Lyod Grossman, I can actually believe he has had a say in the recipes and production. Then again I might be gullible.

At least I don't believe that multi millionaires buy their grub at Morrisons. Richard Hammond getting his sunday roast there has never rung true to me.

I have bought many woks over the years (great for 1 person meals and low fat cooking)

I found the biggest gripe and health risk is that some cheap ones have very heavy handles that tip the wok over if they are empty (very scary when you are heating the oil and it tips over). Just a small tip when buying one, test it to see if it will do this.

I got one of these kits a few years ago and find the bowls silly so I use them for cat bowls which Big Marge appreciates as they are purrfect for her fat face

well she weighs 18lbs, she hates going out and when she occasionally plays she lays on her back and wiggles a bit and thats it. She runs when she hears her bowl being filled up though!
