is this nice ? not tried it before ?
i'm still trying to understand how it's a 'wholebean instant'... is it whole bean? is it a ground instant? aren't all instants made from wholebeans? WE MUST BE TOLD THE TRUTH!

The only coffee I have now, you won't be disappointed. I haven't seen the 100g tin this cheap before.
Mmmmm. very nice coffee. Mmmmm.
my favourite coffee, heat added!
They recently(ish) reformulated. After swearing blind that the reformulation had not changed the contents, they now admit the following:
It’s a clever combination of instant coffee and finely milled beans.
Basically, it's not a high a quality as other wholebean coffees. It's certainly not worth the money even at a reduced price.
Same price at Iceland

this is kinda rubbish now since the change in formula. Saying that, I've just finished a tin of the dark roast variety and that's pretty awesome stuff.

It's 15% ground wholebean mixed with 85% standard instant.
When it originally came out the instant part was much finer then standard instant coffees making it one of the best instant coffees you could get.
However once they had the reputation and name they switched the manufacturing method and/or recipe making it pretty much just an expensive instant coffee without anything really special about it.

If you look up old Kenco Millicano adverts you'll see the difference in appearance and the tag line "each millicule is special". That's because it used to actually be something completely different.

tldr; The standard millicano is barely better then standard instant coffee and imo not worth the premium over it.

now this is the sort of retail information that this site needs... more of this cutting through the marketing crap and get explanations like this... ta, put me off the whole concept of high end instants...
