We had this installed on Saturday. I say installed, they plugged it in and then ran out but hey you get what you pay for.

Machine has been great so far, huge washing improvement on our 5 year old Indesit. Okay, Kenwood isn't a Bosch or Samsung but its still a big upgrade for us and this price, the quality of cleaning is superb.

Who manufactures Kenwood washing machines?
This deal will go crazy
Looks like Panasonic. So, who makes Panasonic ones? I believe they are Chinese. The Panasonic has a 6 year warranty, unlike this one.

Panasonic make Kenwood badged WMs? Now that does come as a surprise (a new pleasant one!)
I know you can easily click on the link, but for those who are too lazy or can't...The fascia does look familiar...

ukwhitegoods doesn't have much info (updated June 2016) ukwhitegoods.co.uk/hel…ces but may be useful:

"This brand is not to be confused with the Kenwood small appliance brand or the Kenwood audio company as these are not related to the large appliance business.

Largely it appears that whilst Delonghi owned Elba they produced in the UK under the Kenwood, Delonghi and Elba brand names with Kenwood appearing to be an exclusive branding for the Currys chain of electrical stores. Quality appears therefore secondary to meeting retail price points and, like Elba, some quality and features were sacrificed in order to meet retailer demands detracting from what was otherwise not bad products.

Kenwood appears to have been used as a "lower price point" product and we have seen many Chinese made dishwashers and other products sold."

Just when I thought I had got my head round TVs.. Vestel & UMC...Louisex2 springs this on me
Who knows, but this is an almost identical Indian (Panasonic NA-127MB1W) Washing Machine, though it's 7kg
http://md5.pricebaba.co/images/product/washing-machine/28655/panasonic-7kg-fully-automatic-front-loading-washing-machine-na-127mb1w-price-india-raw.jpg
The Panasonic support page implies this is part of a "Japan Premium" range http://www.panasonic.com/in/consumer/home-appliances/washing-machines/fully-automatic-Front-Load/na-127mb1w.html

Not really applicable to us in the UK, but interesting that it also comes with "Voltage Control" for Indian customers (under the scroll-through Features section) - "ensures your washing machine works safely even with voltage fluctuations. This feature safeguards the washing machine from high levels of shock and even lower voltage, providing consistent voltage control, which protects the machine from damage."

Gulp!
