Its pretty rubbish to be honest, extremely underpowered motor.

That doesn't really surprise me. But, it's something I wouldn't ever have bought at anywhere near full price, and I'm sure my little girl and her mum will have some fun with it next summer. If it keeps them amused I win!

I have one of these and I've had no problems with it whatsoever.. Why does the motor need to be powerful?

Exactly what I was thinking, theses machines doesn't really make frozen frozen ice cream, but very soft ice cream so i don't see why it would need a powerful motor

Just picked 2 up in the Coatbridge store. There are about 10 left. They are in the discounted home stuff area on the right hand side of the store. Shelf says £22 but they are scanning at £7. Thanks

I have a 12W one which uses a 1.45 litre bowl (different make) which works great and this is just below that in terms of litres per watt.

And why wait 'til next summer to make some?

great!! cheers!!

lol :-) The nipper is only 16 months old, but yeah good point! Will have to "test" it a few times before we let her play I guess ;-)

I have another make but in makro last week bought litre carton of ice cream mix for £1.59 plus vat. Said fir professional ice cream makers but worked fine for me. Grandkids loved it

Just remember to avoid the egg-based recipes (from the BBC website): bbc.co.uk/foo…eam

"Don't serve ice cream made with eggs (even if they're partially cooked as in custard or parfait) to anyone who might be particularly vulnerable to salmonella, such as the elderly, babies, toddlers and pregnant women. Freezing doesn't kill salmonella bacteria; it merely makes them dormant."

I've never actually made any using eggs yet. I do make rum & raisin using ready-made carton custard (and real dark rum ) but it's not one for the kiddies! X) I'd assume that the risk is much lower.

Double cream, semi-skimmed milk, caster sugar, vanilla extract is good for starters. About to make some right now

It doesn't have enough power to properly swirl it and then it just ices up. Anyway, I have it, I don't like it. Up to you what you do with your money.

I just picked up 2 of these in stockton tesco extra. Looked like they had at least one left. Right hand wall of the store

Got last one in Preston
