Just been to my local Sainsbury's store in Peterborough and see this Kenwood KM260 Prospero kitchen mixer for £79.99 SEL says 60% off. I believe this is in-store only as the website still states £99.99 (they had quite a few on the shelf)
Looks like a good price :-)

This now appears to be available on line - just ordered one for click&collect store delivery.

The motor burned out on our old Kenwood a few weeks back... But it was 35+ years old so I can't complain.

This seems worth considering but I can't see it equalling the life span of the old one!

Just picked up one of these. Girlfriend has been after one for ages, looks like a great price to me heat added

Yes I had my mum's old one and left it on for more than 10 secs and it was all over!

Does it come with the blender attachment? Or is it just a mixer?

Can't beat that value

My mothers is similarly aged. When the motor on hers went she was able to get a new one fitted - can't recall the money involved but it was quite reasonable, alot cheaper than buying a new one, and definitely worth it considering the quality of the mixer,

But this isn't a 'proper' Kenwood mixer, is it? Not like the £150-200 ones.

Does it blend?

The better ones are 'Chef' models.

According to my local sainsburys where I picked this up this is the £200 model just reduced to £80, also the online website shows original RRP as £199

I think Sainsburys are clearing their electrical goods out so I expect more deals from them soon

Not opened the box yet as we have no idea where to put then thing But it shows on the box a picture of a blender, so I'm pretty sure there is one inside there

Also looking online and other than sainsburys the next best price I found was around £140 so this is a bargain

PLEASE, if you use any older kit, pay to get it greased up or yes a burn out can happen, worth looking on-line for either DIY service (if you are competent) or booking it in for a service, these were bread & butter & still are for canny folk!
if it hasn't been used for a good few years then it could be dried out & caked up, ...as folk do less baking nowadays (till recently) these are often stashed in cupboards for 10-20-25yrs without use, if it were a car you'd get it serviced, drained, new bits befiore starting her up, same with these in some respects...

We use 2 (more often than not) for baking purposes one old (late 60's) & a new one both good models... no problem.
Like any technology new or old it requires a degree of nous, skill, luck, competence, experience ..poor results in general & not limited to this tend to come from inexperience.

My wife picked one up yesterday. It comes with 3 attachments for mixing and the food blender. You can optionally get the juicer , 3 cutting discs and a mincer/grinder.
quality seems ok. It's 600W comes with a 4.3l stainless steel mixing bowl and a plastic cover to go over the bowl to stop splashing. The blender attaches to the top and is made from clear plastic but seems sturdy enough.
Anyone looking to get one with more extras should maybe look on amazon at the KM265 which comes with more and is 650W. It costs an extra £40 (making it £120) but the extras alone are cost more than that.
We will probably keep ours as we have a juicer and not much need for anything else that is not already provided.

Hey all, This model does not feature the food processor or blender attachments. Have a look at the KM265 on amazon.co.uk for only £120 which does include them, buying them seperately cost £60 so if you want them the 265 is the best deal for you. Otherwise this is a good price for a basic mixer.

This looks like it is the same unit with the Dough Tool, K-Hook, Whisk, Blender, Juicer and shredder blades for £114. Consider the attachements cost aboue £30 to £40 each it seems good or am I missing something here?

Can anyone confirm if it's still cheaper in store?

Having had a Kenwood Chef that got lost during a move i bought one of these from Sainsburys a few weeks ago, opened the box and was so dissapointed!!! the dough hook is so thin, the whole kit seems like a childs version of a Kenwood chef. I promptly boxed it back up and took it back. I have now bought a Kenwood Chef off Amazon for a good price. Seriously my advice Don't Bother with one of these, you will be dissapointed!!!!

I've had a silver one for a year or so and it's great (£120 with a little cashback was the best price at the time) . Believe me, the dough hook (and other tools) works well! If I baked large mixes every day I'd consider a 'Chef' model for a few hundred quid. For normal size mixes a few times a week, this machine is great, especially at £80. Heat added!

I forgot to ask... how do you lose something as substantially big and heavy as a Kenwood Chef, even during a house move?oO

Lost = stolen

Went to get this, it is indeed 80 quid but does not include the food processor and juicer that the km265 does for around 120 quid, so I didnt get it, hot though if you don't want the other attachments
