I first posted this just over a month ago but thought it was worthy of a re-post due to Amazon's £119.00 Kenwood Kmix Machine offer as this is the genuine Kmix glass bowl AX550 and is the cheapest it has ever been...normally retails for £60 so £35.00 is a brilliant price for it. Free Click and Collect or £3.49 Home Delivery or free on orders over £40 @ Debenhams. Cheapest price I have come across for a genuine Kenwood Kmix Bowl,Kenwood themselves have it on offer for £45 at the moment. For those of you wondering it does come with the greay plastic ring attached to the bottom of the bowl but for some unknown reason the picture shows it without.

Made from high quality, durable borosilicate glass, the kMix glass bowl allows you to clearly see what you're mixing in order to create the perfect consistency. The generous 5 litre capacity is perfect for both daily food preparation as well as for entertaining and the graduated sides allow for easy measuring of ingredients. In addition, the glass bowl features an easy grip handle, pouring spout for mess free serving and is dishwasher safe to help make clearing up even simpler. N.b. Although the bowl is heatproof borosilicate glass, care should be taken when mixing hot ingredients.

Depends on what you need it for and how often you'll use the machine. I have a spare bowl and paddle attachment because I do a lot of baking and don't have to wash both before I can start mixing a different cake batter or buttercream . I would also buy a stainless steel bowl because I'm so clumsy.

Like eleraza I've found having a spare bowl really handy as I do a lot of baking and saves having to mess around washing and drying the bowl in between different mixes...actually ended up buying another Kmix machine from Amazon for the £119 to get another bowl and all the different attachments as worked out it was cheaper than buying them all separately.

I also have a stainless steel bowl which I use instead of the glass one for making dough.

As others have said it comes in handy as you don't have to wash mid prep.

I got the Mrs the machine last year and she has the glass bowl. It's great as you can easily see what's going on with the mix. But it's very heavy. I think the best combination would be one of each (one glass, one stainless steel).
