Good machine however you will need to replace the glass bowl after a while as the plastic nut on the base wears out. Stick to a mixer with a metal bowl.
I've never actually seen a new Kenwood out in the wild or this. I thought the only way to get a Kenwood is to inherit it from your great grandmother.

Not much but 1.65% on top cashback too.
Great machines and a great price. I used one of these for a couple of years and regret parting with it when I repatriated.

I'd happily buy another when I emigrate again.
Voted hot but there are issues with the ring that attaches the glass bowl on these models

This or Kitchenaid classic?

Great machine
Is this a good deal/price. My wife wants one but I’ve no idea if this is worth purchasing or if I hold out something better will come along?

Depends what you're mixing. If it's cakes, batters, cookies etc then the artisan. If it's bread or pizza doughs then the Kenwood.
The artisan J dough hook is the single most infuriating thing that had happened to me in my life until that point (replaced it with the professional and screw dough hook and all is good now)

Thanks a lot. It’ll mostly be cakes and that sort of stuff so I think I’ll wait for a deal on the artisan. Waiting for it to go £300 or lower, hopefully won’t be that long of a wait.

So the KMix is going to be better than pretty much any kitchenaid IMO, they're just better built and more powerful. That being said even the Kmix is an occasional/hobby baker tool mostly for cakes etc, if you want something that is bomb proof and will handle sitting on a shelf from a decade from baking several times a day grab a chef. Similarly if you want to do other things that need a mixer i.e. make pasta, mincing etc then get the Chef.

We replaced my Mum's Chef with a Kmix when they moved house to fit with the decor, she readily admits she likes the look, but if she was still baking for a big family it would have driven her up the wall. As far as I'm aware the Chef it replaced was a decade older than me and is still working in its new home.

Get the KA with a Metal bowl. Its really solid and reliable. If you need any proof look at Bake Off. They switched to Kenwoods then back to Kitchen Aid!

The KW KMX750RD has a metal bowl, currently £250 with a voucher code that was posted on hduk not long ago.

Where from did you get the professional dough hook that fits the Artisan? I found a German company that makes one and sell it for around 100 euros which is an absolute rip off imo.

I didn't, I got a professional mixer instead. You shouldn't use the spiral hook on the artisan. There is a company Inthe Netherlands that makes a cheaper one too but like I mentioned it's not good for your artisan.

The J hook puts the weight and pressure to the side of the bowl and the screw pushes it down which isn't good for the artisan mixers motor......all cost saving. Might work for a while but you'll burn out the motor or more likely strip the cogs in a year.
