The current price at Currys on their website and eBay store is £279.99 but you can potentially save an extra £10 using code LKA10R and additional 2% TCB cashback.

However besides cashback and code, £280 is still a good price for this.

I know fridge/freezers need to be very specific to people’s needs but here’s a few things that ticked boxes for me that are rare in this price bracket...

A++ energy rated running annually at avg 255 kWh. I’ve never seen at this price point.
Storage is ok-ish‎ for most needs 219/89 litres net. Rare you get over 300 litres for this much
Auto Frost Free - that includes the freezer.
Twin Thermostat
Separate meat/fish drawer and salad/veg/fruit drawer
Comparatively quiet at 39dB, others are around 45dB
Metal Back
Good freezing capacity, 12kg/24hrs
Oh and the price!(nerd)

I’ve checked some reviews and some of the negatives are around limited freezer space (subjective), can show fingerprints, wine rack.

That’s quite poor. Not sure who manufactures these or who owns Kenwood brand. Shame it only comes with 1 year warranty.

An equivalent Samsung with 5 year warranty plus 10 year on compressor is another £200 or so

Samsung? Commonly sold at Currys, JL and AO.com with the 5yr guarantee. Usually the one with the Inverter compressor that has the 10 year guarantee. Look for part numbers RB31 and RB29

When on sale you can get for about £350 but it won’t be the A++ model. Nearer £500 for that
What would people generally go for on average if the price was the same 60/40 or 50/50 ?
We got a Samsung rb29 with dispenser for £295 from ao ebay

Varies from household to household but I would perhaps go for 60/40 and change eating/cooking habits by relying on freezer less.

The bigger you have (of anything), the more you’ll make use of it then wonder how you survived without it. Downsizing becomes difficult.
