I bought one of these about a year ago from curry's. Within 3 months it was broken. Curry's sent an engineer out and they couldn't get the part to repair it which was a fan unit if I remember correctly. In the mean time I contacted my credit card company who told me I have to give them reasonable time to repair (nothing in law gives a specific time) anyway I kept on and on calling Curry's with no progress. In the end I was left with no fridge or freezer for a month they came and collected the Kenwood and refunded me. I then purchased a Samsung American fridge freezer. I would also like to add Kenwood is Curry's own brand yet if you have a problem Currys give give you Kenwoods customer support and when you call them they tell you to contact Curry's?

The specs say It has a rear drainage hole for defrosting the freezer

I bought one of these from Currys thinking I could trust their customer service etc, and it broke weeks after its warranty period. I called up Team KnowHow and they were asking for £180 for a call out and fix. AVOID, this fridge is cheap tat.
a bit off topic anyone know of an American fridge freezer with depth of 60cm or less?

Kenwood is owned by Delonghi not curry’s. Although it doesn’t alter the fact their service is terrible for both and the kenwood fridge freezers appear to be terrible build quality.
I got the same model from Curry's (silver colour) about 2 or 3 years ago and its been great, does everything it claims to and has never let me down.

It comes with an excellent ice cube maker. The frost free feature is genuine and superb, even if don't properly shut door it sorts out any frost build up quickly. It has auto alarms if doors are left open so that shouldn't happen often either. The water tap dispenser is easy to use. There is a lot to like about this freezer, particularly for the price point.

My only criticisms are the 1. freezer could do with a couple if extra shelve slots and shelves. The middle section is far too high and there is a huge gap. Frozen food is difficult to stack and find it just gets very messy. 2. The egg tray is only for holding 6 eggs.
I would avoid anything from Kenwood. I got a blender and when I used first time smoke was coming out from it. I used it 9 times before it broke. I got the unit replaced. But it is still cr.p anyway.
I purchased a kenwood model almost the same as this but mine has water dispenser on the front but specs all seem the same, freezer size etc.. Well ive had it around a year and its been great and build quality is great, same as anything, some people will have a few faulty units, its no reason to avoid them.
Mine is the one below

WARNING! I’ve got this and it’s really poor quality. I stupidly didn’t extend the warranty and 3 weeks after the warranty ran out, the freezer broke. Needed a new fan which was hundreds to fit. Even with a warranty curry’s advised it would have taken a week to get out to me. Seriously wouldn’t buy one of these again; they are terrible quality. I would buy a better brand if I could make the decision again.
Kenwood stuff is so poor. Cheap garbage for a reason. Two dishwashers broke after a year and a blender after a couple of years. Wouldn’t buy from them again.
Don't buy this fridge freezer. We have had ours just over a year and it has failed out of warranty and currys are being terrible about repairing it. The first engineer that came out replaced the condenser fan motor and noticed the fan was broken so he replaced it with a fan he had in the van that was too big so had to bang hell out of it to get it to fit, this has since caused several other issues and had engineers out twice since then last time the replaced the main board in the fridge and its still having problems. Stuff in the fridge is freezing and it keeps bleeping all the time and changing modes itself.
My mum got a kenwood the compressor broke within a few months they replaced then the front screen went and they weren't interested. Would avoid.
We have one of these. Just had it repaired for the second time and have taken out the extended warranty (something I never normally do) as the repairman said they have had to repair loads of them. There is a problem with the freezer fan which when it goes wrong makes it sound like someone is drilling through the wall. Real shame as it was just what we were after, and we were very happy with it for the first 6 months.

Exact same thing that happened to me. Only a years warranty and the fan went after one year and three weeks. The private engineer that came out said he changes 3 or 4 fans per week on the Kenwood fridge freezers because the build quality is so poor.
Love a bit of Ken's wood
Had an ''Admiral'' fridge freezer about 20 yrs ago....frost free, never had an issue with freezing up ever, that was 20 yrs ago, In the UK, (treasure island) its looked on as a special feature, diabolical and typical third world.
Voted hot. Ask for installation.

Well its free to put through the front/back door and unpack.

Unless you need hand holding to physically plug, I mean install, the fridge freezer to a socket.....

And not got a 4K display on the front as well for this reason, I'm out.

Kenwood may be an exclusive brand to Currys but it is owned by the Italian company De'Longhi.
Even then I don't think De'Longhi makes any appliances these days, so its going to be a rebranded FF.
These are all good reasons to steer clear!

Difference is the curry’s score is based on users voting within a month of ownership. Comments here are users with a years + usage. Mine broke after 1 year and 3 weeks, so trust me, don’t buy it (and by the way I have it 10/10 on the curry’s web site because a few weeks into usage it was fine). Statistics can be misleading....

Thought I would chirp in with my experiences with our Kenwood fridge. Ours was bought in 2016, identical to this inside but the only difference is external, the door handles are not full length on ours. I’ve included a pic showing that I own one.

Issues with ours:

The door touch controls do not work properly. They work for a while after a power cycle then lock up. It’s been like this since new.

Sometimes the fridge randomly chimes as if a button is pressed on the door, the display also lights up. It can do this constantly requiring a power cycle to stop it.

The chimes have changed tone over the past year, the door open chime and warning chime are out of tone and sound corrupted.

There’s something mechanical inside the fridge section that operates whenever the door is open, it sounds like a timer (it’s not a fan) this is becoming really noisy as it ages.

During hotter months it howls loudly and the compressor short cycles, it could be low on refrigerant or under charged – temps seem fine though – it can be quite annoying.

The plastics inside are particularly brittle – more so than the Beko fridges we’ve had previously .

Other than that it’s a sturdy fridge, metal back too so added fire safety. Just a shame its not reliable. Its kept our food fine but it seems to be deteriorating rapidly, the noises mentioned above are very disconcerting and we’ll be replacing it at some point this year even though its only three years old.

I would avoid.

Same happened to me. 13 months in and fan motor breaks. Three weeks without a fridge freezer but managed to get the cost of repair £150 back from currys. Beware with Kenwood.

NOTE If anyone owns one of these you can get the motor from ebay for £15.00 and its not hard to fit inside the freezer compartment.

Look at this on eBay

DSG have a brand marketing deal to license the kenwood name for white label products. It does NOT include customer support. The white label product and after-sales are all down to DSG (Currys). In fact there is a label to this end stuck to every appliance.

If i remember this is an AMICA built unit that shares its parts amoungst thousands of other models so very surprised Currys couldn't get a replacement fan.

Ha definitely trust the carefully vetted curry's reviews
We have this..., the fan motor broke at 10 months old... not happy. Known fault as everyone has said above.

However it got fixed by currys and if it happens again I’ll be sourcing my own motor and doing the ‘repair’ myself as it was pretty simple tbh
I would add it is a great size, looks fab and fits every need apart from the week where it ruined £100+ worth of food

I have to agree with the don`t touch it brigade.
Not because its Curries or Kenwood it`s the price, its far too cheap to begin with.
I always wanted one and finally I got one, cost £800 ish over 12 years ago and it was a nightmare.
The Freezer is too slim to be of any real practical use (there were 4 of us at the time) , I had to go buy another upright Freezer to put beside it
If you are determined to have one take some Boxes and packaging of stuff you regularly freeze to the shop and play with it see how much space there is NOT.
They share a motor which is the real problem , I could never get the temperature right in both parts at the same time,
Spent the whole time adjusting it and alternating from half Frozen food to Icy veg and Fruit in my salad box.
Its possibly the worst thing I ever bought in my life ..
I must huv been very lucky with my kenwood fridge freezer. Seem to ne in the minority of consumers here, as had it 2~3 years now with no issues and delighted with it. Starting to get anxious about it now though!

In a word NO .... Get two separate units then if something goes wrong you only have to replace one at a time.
Much like washer driers unless you are short of space or prepared to pay for TOP OF THE RANGE ££££, separate units are the way to go.
Well this is Hot Deals and Fisher & Paykel is never going to get voted hot here but if you have the money then yes they are very good.... take a seat before you look at the price.
