Kernel King Nut Butter 170g jar, 29p at Poundstretcher

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Found in Poundstretcher's Birkenhead** store, 170g jars of Kernel King mixed Nut Butter for just 29p. It's a blend of roasted nuts - "Almonds, Cashews, Hazelnuts, Peanuts, Pecans and Walnuts". This brand also contains Sugar, Palm Oil and Salt, but at 29p is a bargain, i.m.o.
Best Before date is Feb 2019.

After posting a deal for Duerr's Almond Butter from B&M a few days ago, someone commented that Poundstretcher sold it cheaper. Couldn't find Duerr's, but on this jar the label's small print it does say produced by F. Duerr & Sons in Manchester.

Posted as a local deal but it might be available in other Poundstretchers stores .

(** EDIT - and Wavertree, Liverpool store, 6th Nov)

(And, yes, I realise there will be lots of 'silly' comments re. the term nut butter)

I've had these, they are amazing
This nut butter is good, but just be aware it is quite oily and needs stirred before each use.

Great bargin - available (from time to time) in Boscombe and Christchurch.
as per butterflymum excess oil on top of jar - and for quite a lot of them inner seal has come away and lid is loose
Only mention this cos I hae a very oillly shirt the other day when I was buying some!
What is in it for 29p?! Nuts aren't cheap plus processing plus packing and delivery. Bit scary.

I've listed the ingredients in order as shown on the label. It's probably that price due to being a discontinued line, excess stock, changed packaging, etc.. It's not short-dated either.
I tried it this morning an it tastes ok. I usually buy the 100% nut butters, but at this price it was worth a punt. Might return and buy a couple more
Hot! I love some nut butter on my baps.

29p isnt the retail price, it doesn't reflect on the product. its probably a long discontinued product and Poundstretcher got a load of them so are selling them off cheap so they dont linger round, and im sure they are still making a profit on what they would have paid for the stock
Short date is why it is cheap. It'll only be a BBE date anyhoo so even if it was shorter it would be A OK for quite some time after.

Our local did not have this at lunchtime today (swansea enterprise). However, they had some of the Whole Earth peanut butter (270g) 96% nuts, salt, palm oil = 49p.

I often wonder if the Whole Earth stuff is made by Duerrs as well.

"The family company, best known for making marmalade and jam, started producing for Whole Earth and supermarket own labels a quarter of a century ago from its former site on Prestage Street in Old Trafford. As demand for the spread grew, the company expanded to produce for all the major UK retailers before launching their first branded Duerr’s range, made from all American peanuts, in 2012 (available at Tesco)."
Has anybody bought this and found that the lid seal isn't in place? Both jars that I bought were like that.

Aah, I didn't spot pjeff7's comment, thanks for that. I've tried emailing Pounstretcher so I'll see what they say.

Edit: Just noticed I've had a reply saying they should get back to me within 7 days. Yawn....
