Works out at 80p for 250g - not often you find butter at less than £1 a stick.

After Lurpak, this is my favourite butter.

This used to be nice butter but recently the formula has changed (to make it spread better) and it's become a little strange, perhaps, like me, folk have stopped buying it and Kerrygold have a warehouse full?

I always wondered what horse butter would taste like.

Still better than spreads I suppose

What butter did Marlon Brando use in Last Tango in Paris?

yes now its gone soft, it tastes more like spread than butter

Not in my local Morrison's, but they had Anchor at 2 for £2.

I wish they would bring back their honey butter spread, it was lurrrvly.

I never buy food from Ireland - even since the beef was contaminated with dioxins.

Whats the consensus with butter these days?

Not so long ago it was claimed to be bad for you and a year before that it was claimed to be good for you?

excellent deal....

D'oh! I just paid £1.60 for one in Sainsburys the other day! Oh well, will stock up next time I go to Morrisons.

Like everything else - eat some if you enjoy it, but too much is bad for you.

I didn't used to understand the difference between butter and margarine either. The difference as I understand it is that butter is more natural and comes from cows milk. Margarine comes from 'left over fat' from any oily substance and is then coloured yellow to make it look more like butter.

Butter is a lot higher in cholestrol whereas the way margarine is manufactured it contains less (e.g. sunflower or vegetable oil).

Personally I can't taste the difference between butter and margarine so tend to go for the 'light' versions of margarines.

I was in Morrisons yesterday didn't see this offer. As for the butter or margarine debate avoid margarine it is heavily processed & is really bad for your health. I use this butter and mix it with olive oil to make it healthier & so it spreads easily. Butter is a natural product when eaten in moderation it is not bad for your health.

Thats absolutely right!! Ireland is one of few countries where it is cheaper to feed cows grass rather than grain. Kerrygold cows diet is approximately 90% grass resulting in a healthy butter containing good fats. This butter is healthier than many 'Organic' butters here in the UK such as Rachels, Yeo Valley, Anchor (who now farm cows in the UK not New Zealand). Organic uk butters have milk sourced from farms who are organic and soil association registered. This requires a minimum of 60% pasture diet for cows. The more natural the cows diet the better.

So yes I said it's HEALTHY. Fat is good for you people, if its the right fat. As for cholesterol, this is so essential every cell in the body can create its own cholesterol. High cholesterol is not an issue unless again it's the bad sort. Cholesterol only blocks arteries as a result of inflammation.. it's the bodies way of trying to repair the damage inflammation causes.

Your welcome for the free knowledge.. if anyone disagrees then I'm all ears, we can all always learn more..

If anyone knows where I can get Kerrygold unsalted in the UK let me know.
Frech butters may also be very good if not better... such as Insigney Ste Mire - Waitrose.

Salted, so not for me. And certainly not best butter in UK!

When we were in our local Morrisons the other day this appeared to only apply to the "light" variant of the butter.

The offer seems to have been pulled from the Morrisons website.

I don't like it now its changed. My son told me they did an experiment at school and Margarine is 90% plastic or something along those lines. Lurpurk all the way!

Not in Eastwood unless the signs are not on display :-(

Hear, hear - I love this butter too.

Butter is such a simple food there's not really a recipe. You get some cream, you agitate it until it turns to butter - simple. Maybe add some salt. If there's a recipe, it's not butter.

Has this deal been confirmed, has anyone other than OP actuallly found this in a Morrisons? I might pop in when I'm nearby but would like to know that it's a 'genuine' offer.

It was a 'genuine' offer - in that it was published on the Morrisons website yesterday. But if you read my post #25 above, it has now been pulled from their website. So I guess that it must have been a mistake on their website.

So sadly the rug seems to have been pulled from under this one - the deal should now be expired.

Thanks, I probably wont bother then, unless I decide to stock up on Octopus!

your comments are ill informed/dangerous. Saturated fat is 100% necessary to the human body to function, as other people have said all your cell membranes are made from it, your brain is made from it, all your hormones are made from it!!! margarine is made from none human consumption products which are toxic to the body,

Now let me guess, your thinking my doctors says eat low fat! my TV says fat makes you fat! knowledge is power, doctors have less than a day of nutritional tutorial in Uni.

The whole saturated fat Myth is old science , Ancel keys wrote the diet heart hypothesis, which has been debunked, for an easy watching explanation youtube.com/wat…Hp4

Please help yourself, gain some knowledge, get some virgin cold pressed coconut oil eat it so your brain will function properly

What dioxins?????

I think that was limited to just one dairy farm in Northern Ireland with food safety authorities judging that there was no risk to public health.

use to luvvv kerrygold

got some a few weeks back "new softer butter" - only £1 but
had a weird tang off it - tasted like a salty clover gone wrong!

cant find this offer in store or on line maybe just in the ukros uses??

Deals off , someone please expire. Not in Hadleigh either

You should read my post again before you start pointing fingers. Never in my post did I mention anything about good and bad. You just saw the word 'cholestrol' and assumed the worse. There is good and bad cholestrol. However having been diagnosed with high 'bad cholestrol' myself I stated I prefer the 'light' margarines.

I leave it for people to form their own opinions on whether they want butter or margarine.

As for ill informed, I think I would prefer to listen to my doctor than 'somebody who said so' on an internet forum.
