The lids pop out after opening it a few times. The hinges then snap so every time you open the lid it falls down the back or you need to pop one side back in. Then theres the slugs, spiders and slug trails that fill up inside so only put stuff you don’t mind getting wet or dirty inside which defeats the purpose really. I use mine for some flower pots and paint cans now.
Might be worth thanking @seanrtkelly for notifying everyone of this price....

I picked this up from Wickes this morning. No way you can sit on it. Not the quality I was hoping it would be but does the job storage wise for £20

It’s available in stores. They had plenty in Glasgow store today.

Thanks. They are different storage boxes.
Ordered one thanks. I wonder if they're strong enough to sit on?!
FireFreeAFC06/07/2019 22:26

They're not but ok.

They are slightly different. This one doesn’t have wheels

Maybe if it’s jam packed but not when it’s empty lol

Amazon page states that "can hold up to 200 kg on its lid" but reviews say the hinges will break (not because you've sat on it though).

Thanks for the info. I know Keter do some benches with storage but doubt this can be used as bench!

Keter dont seem to be trusted when things go wrong with the storage items.

Homebase has this for the same price and in brown, if anybody prefers that colour...

I bought one of these at this price last year my 7 year old grandson sat on it once it is now held together with duct tape 😣
Thanks OP grabbed one of these from Ipswich branch and it is pretty much what I have been after for a while.

Thanks I'll cancel wickes one and go for Argos one as I prefer the stronger box that can be sat on.

Yes, I've looked and still don't know what your point is, I'm afraid, as it supports my point :

seanrtkelly:
It's worth checking if your local Wickes has these in stock as they are currently selling them for £20. I'm going to pick one up now.

wickes.co.uk/Ket…950

Edit: A very similar sized model

Ps. You definitely can't sit on the £20 Hollywood model. I almost fell through it

You must have the very similar looking 'Marvel plus', not this 'Hollywood' model. If 1066owl's 7 year old grandson can damage it...

This happened to me!
About to buy one then checked the measurements you won’t get much in it
These things are not strong enough for storage. The ones I had fell to bits after three months.
Nice isn't this an average price for these now though?
Thanks op, heat added
Picked ours up yesterday. As said not sturdy enough to be used as a bench. Easy enough to put together but some bits require a bit of force to click in. For 20 quid it's fine but I'd be pissed if I'd paid anymore.

I've raised ours off the ground on a couple of bricks to help keep the damp out.
Bought today taking back tomorrow. Absolute rubbish, fought with it for half an hour but couldn't put humpty together again.

Just so- I have one and as previously commented the hinges break and they are not suitable for sitting on but they are fairly watertight for keeping your barbeque coals in. Trouble is, sooner or later, someone will sit on it of course....
On the whole, save your money and buy a wooden bench with storage...
Picked up 2 . Flimsy but once put together ok.£20 about right price
Would love this but the squirrels out my back garden would have a feild day chewing holes in it.
Not strong at all.
U can’t sit on top of that.
The built in locks are not smooth enough to click in.
And really weak body.
No wheels to move the box.
Definitely the £30 pound one is better.
This is a cheap and weak version.
Please consider the Argos Marvel Plus version. For £30 (£10) more, you get the ability to sit (or drunkenly stand!) on the top of the bench, and has wheels at one end to help you move it about. No ‘accidetal sit on it and break it’ moment.
