For me , eating carbs it is. Have totally changed my lifestyle and benefited from it. Keto , for those who choose to follow a low carb nutrition while exercising, is amazing. Depends how much you like your pizza I guess .

It works but it's difficult doing it in a healthy way and it's a very expensive diet.

Jury's still out on if the ketosis helps you lose weight or the high protein meals make you fuller than high carb meals.

it depends what you mean by healthy?
being obese isnt healthy!
eating rubbishy proccessed food and takeaways is very expensive also!

Ketones use fat for energy so yes. It burns your body fat. It's not a high protein diet it's a low carb, moderate protein and high fat. So if your protein intake is too high then you may need to adjust the way you eat if it's for weight loss. Too much protein can affect the state of ketosis.

You are satiated due to being in a state of ketosis or just from the combined intake of high fat foods.

Keto can be very healthy if done correctly. Avoid too much processed foods. Get in the green vegetables and salads. I regularly eat nuts and Berry's also.

Any diet can be restrictive. Any diet can have it's moments where you come of track. Put weight back on. People argue you shouldn't eliminate a micronutrient so Keto is going to fail. But they quite simply are ignorant. You don't eliminate it entirely, just hugely cut down on sugar (which most diets they do anyway) and starchy carbs like bread, pasta, rice etc. I'm eating more veggies and salads than I did on IIFYM and calorie tracking.

My partner has been on this diet for over a year and is a strong advocate for it. She's lost weight (size 10 to 8/6) very quickly. My observation is that for it to work and for you to continue it for a sustained period of time you need to enjoy fat (she does - bullet proof coffee each morning, lots of fatty meat and oily fish etc, in addition to nuts, avocados). It would be tough if you are a veggie or are really into carb heavy food. It also helps if you enjoy cooking and like to use all the different types of ingredients (almond flour, various sugar alternatives etc) that Keto requires to adjust your favourite recipes. To me it seems like more of a religion/lifestyle choice than a quick diet but if it works for you it can be a winner. Her cholesterol (while not an issue beforehand) has also improved with an increase in the good type and decrease in the bad which fly's in the face of conventional wisdom in this area.
I was on this diet for 2 months , stopped because I am back at uni and I need to do that stress eating
But during the 2months I have lost around 4kg (this is without exercise)
It's super hard for me because I am Chinese and rice is life lol!
I can't wait until I get back on this diet and this book looks great (thanks!!):)
Do lots of research before you start! There are also lots of resources online, apps, facebook groups, reddit forums ect
I've been on keto for the past 6 months and have lost 4 stone (~25KG), without exercising any more than moving around as I would anyway. I'm taking a break from it over xmas, after tapering off it and re-introducing carbs to my diet slowly, then I'll be re-starting it in January.

Worth noting that this diet isn't something you should have 'cheat days' on. In order to maintain ketosis, you do really need to heavily limit your carbs consistently. In fact, I've read that if you go from ketosis and have a sudden intake of carbs (~75g of glucose), the sudden spike in blood sugar can damage your blood vessels, hence why I'm tapering off the diet slowly.
That said, I've found it the best diet overall that I've ever attempted.
The only way to lose weight is to eat less than your daily calorie intake.

Pretty much the only diet I stick to, I’m on it now. You lose your appetite which helps a lot and you start to realise you need food for energy. Helps being a massive meat eater too.
