£240 for a mid range card likely to be replaced this year. Not sure that’s a great option.

Well personally my dream of a pc is just to obtain a 1060. But your point regarding a possible new graphic card is to be noted. I will wait for that then. Just want a decent PC to game on.
If you need to buy now the price isn’t bad to be fair. There isn’t a definite date for the 11xx range yet either.

More than likely will be replaced this year, then next year that card will be replaced and the year after that...........

Retail price about time.

Difference here is that this series has been around for two years with not even a refresh between. I can't remember there ever being a gap between releases like this. So you would be not only buying into two year old tech, but two year old tech at the same price it was at launch.

Wouldn't hold my breath on the 11xx anytime soon, Nvidia have no reason what so ever to bring it to market, AMD have nothing quicker than the 10xx series now or in the present future, So why would they bother.

I think the rumours seem to be an 11 series launch in the next few months, but that makes it likely the 1060 replacement will be closed to Christmas. If the mining bubble is still there and the ASIC mines are still hard to get you could find it's not possible to get this replacement card until next year.

I'm waiting for a decent brand 1060 6gb with a dual fan to drop below £250 and I'll bite, really want the gigabyte gaming of the red and black msi
is this Chinese brand?

Nvidia do actually improve their cards in their refreshes though, so 'adding a ti' at the end involves 'making the card better'.

The same can't be said for AMD refreshes. The 480 v the 580? Slap on an out of the box OC and boom, refresh.

Kfa2 is European brand of "GalaxyTech" (Galaxy Microsystems LtD) which is a Chinese company.

I have had KFA2 cards in the past (they normally make Low Profile versions of mid range cards like the 750 ti and the 1050 ti), never had an issue with them.

Only after about 50,000 posts, There delivery costs have always been a bit of a joke really, Nearly 9 quid delivery for 8gig of memory.
I must say this card is Awesome,My sons been using this for a few months now (red limited edition version) and tells me it is one of the coolest and quietest on the market. This is a great price for this card. Excellent overclocking ability too.
Hot from me.
Edit: Sorry Guy`s (slight mistake on model) my son as the EX OC 1060 6GB version ... But this card is still Excellent value.

Best Regards,

What you waiting for ? This card meets your requirements barring the colour .
This is a Beast of a card and is superior to the msi variants.

What does this score on video card benchmark?

Hardly 50,000 once you get free shipping, it applies to anything they sell, including an item for 25p if needed! Used them for years, best PC seller around IMO

480 vs 580 hmmm makes no sense to get a 580 if you had a 480 but makes sense to get the 580 over the 480 if you have neither. Nvidia do pretty much the same things but add TI at the end.

Sorry meant to say I need dual dp and an HDMI output, I know I could do a converter bit would prefer not to, also it's in a class sided case where all other components are black and red

Can't really compare it to Nvidia since, for a start, the Ti isn't marketed as the next generation of card (4xx vs 5xx) it's slotted in between SKUs of the current generation (10xx vs 10xx Ti). The 1050 Ti, for instance, has more Cuda cords, higher memory capacity and memory bandwidth compared to 1050 cards. It's not just an overclocked 1050, whereas the 580 is basically an overclocked 480.

Pretty much the same jargon but in tec terms.

Fair enough, Not 50,000, but 250 is not just a few posts, That's a lot of talking geek, You can't really say that forum members get free shipping like all you have to do is register and say hello.
I just had a look, And my last order with them was July 2012, An i5 2500k,Motherboard and memory(Which I'm still gaming on as we speak) That cost me £321.97(8 Gig of Ripjaws x memory for £41.99,They were the days), and they still wanted £11.40 postage.

£8.70 delivery for 8 gig of memory. Really.

This isn't true at all. The 'ti' branding has always been a significant improvement, and it isn't a 're brand' or 'new generation' of cards.

You say its 'the same jargon but in tec terms'. It's not at all.

techpowerup.com/rev…tml

Basically 20% better.

480 v 580? Even in the best light, it only shows 6% improvement. That's an AIB versus stock 480.

The 1050 vs 1050ti is again, 20% difference.

techpowerup.com/rev…tml

This isn't 'just tech jargon'. The TI is significantly better, and it doesn't pretend to be a 'new generation'.
Stop goggling - wither its a TI or re-brand it has the same purpose to get that little bit extra out of the card. Rename it or add a TI makes no difference.

New tec or not.

Just my opinion mate .
Actually the opinion of numerous blogs etc.. (google is your friend) This card and make is renowned for superior overclocking capability`s, very quite performance and it`s excellent cooling ..This runs sweet and is super cool and will outperform a msi.

Best Regards,
Edited by: "kevann" 20th May
I'll stick with the higher clock speeds of my MSI card and you can stick with your blogs.
My bad sorry..My son has the EX OC edition ....That`s my mistake...Sorry ...Every thing I mentioned was biased on that model.
Apologies for the mix up..The OC edition is still a cracking card and is still a better alternative than the MSI . The EX OC is the Beast and runs closer to a 1070 than any other in it`s class .

Yes but the difference is in the overclocking ability...and cooling .. The card can be overclocked to the extreme unlike other cards and still be stable performance. That the big difference in the models.

I was comparing the models as you get them out the box as they are both overclocked models as standard and both have the same specs. If you are going to overclock further then I concede I know nothing about what either are capable of but I do know it will also be dependent on the pc you are putting them in and not something i'm likely to play with a great deal hence wanting an overclocked one out the box. I've tried previously copying others settings for the same card and not found them to be stable which again points to the actual pc they are in. I don't have any flash liquid cooling or aftermarket fans in my XPS just the bog standard cooling so my internal temps will be higher than those running bigger fans or liquid cooled systems.
