Looking forward for the reviews of the 1070.

Not the most famous brand but i have a 3 year old KFA2 running in a machine and it has always been rock solid,
Not the worst price but that cooler looks awful.
No back plate

This is a good price but it's the most basic of basic coolers attached. You get what you pay for

Look is less important than functionality and noise. This is likely to be even worse than the F's Edition.

The back looks like the ref PCB. Doubt there are any others atm - one way too keep leaks down would have been for Nvidia to order the ref PCBs and then supply them to the AIB: actual custom cards with enhanced PCBs will come later.

Problem is the reference design not only has a very poor cooler (making this launch resemble the Radeon R9-290X launch), it also has a rather cheap PCB (unlike the R9-290X which the usual AMD over-engineered design).

Normally people with a water-cooling setup buy reference cards to run them under water. While that would certainly solve the noise and throttling, the cheapened out power circuitry on the reference PCBs will disappoint anyone trying to get good overclocks under water.
How is it a hot deal to post the price of an item on release day without any discounts or anything?

It's usually £619.99 at launch for the 1080 series.

If you absolutely want one now this is it.

31% more expensive than the $599 (£407) MSRP despite import duty on electronics+shipping only being 20%.

Fleeced hard.

Because at the end of the day, a "deal" isn't limited to something with a discount. If someone was looking for the cheapest GTX 1080 card around, this would be a deal to them and hence would appreciate knowing about it on here.

599 is without state Tax.

That is 10% at most in the US (and 10% is considered extreme).

Factor in 10% on £407 and that equals £47 making a total of £454.

20% (VAT) on £407 would be £501.

So the UK is still being majorly ripped off no matter how you look at it.

I know that.

I think it's still worth pointing out though because if people in this country and other parts of Europe don't start voting with their wallets then the likes of Nvidia and others are just going to keep on doing this sort of ****.

The price is insane for a mid/high end chip.

I think the US prices are reasonable-ish. The UK pricing is extortionate.
Depreciation disaster imo

Just wanted to point out that 10% of 407 is 40.7 not 47. Also 20% of 407 should be twice as much as 40.7 so 81.... not 94.

Yep, sorry. I'd had a couple of beers by the time I posted that. X)
