This was posted nearly a month ago but at £340 and without the free game if I'm not mistaken. Very nice price for a GTX 780.

2% cashback via Quidco too and 1.51% from Topcashback. Cashback seems to be VAT excluded price only.

I missed the Amazon deal for a £280 R9 290 yesterday whilst dithering but this seems a decent alternative. I'm still dithering though as I'm sure a 280x or 770 would be sufficient for me now. This would be a bit over budget (but lovely).

Very good price for a 780. Don't think I've seen one that cheap so far.
What 290 card was it? I didn't see that deal, wanted a 290 for ages too
Bargain for a 780, I use one for gaming at 2560 x 1440 and the 780 handles it very well. Voted hot
Prices like this mean the 8XX series is not too far away!

£279.95 it was but didn't last long. Probably available for an hour or so before it went back up in price.

3gb seems not be that much anymore especially if needs to be in sli
from what I understand KFA2 are just Galaxy re-branded?

I've honestly never heard of them before and no idea whether they're reliable or not, and I cant find any benchmarks (for this card anyway, plenty for the HOF edition)?
Yea its a great deal but some games are using more than 3GB vram especially at the high res you should be using this card with. Eg Crysis 3 and Titanfall
1 year warranty seems abit low maybe why it's so cheap.

Good point and I noticed that too as I went to post. I'm looking for a good reason not to buy this.
Usually though, if a component is going to fail, it will do so within the first year.

I've only had 3 fail on me in my whole life (1 graphics card, 1 harddrive, and 1 motherboard) all did so within the first 6 months, and their replacements all worked fine beyond even when I sold them.
Great price, although it is OEM so it only has 1 year warranty so please be aware of this. HOWEVER to anyone watercooling, this means nothing so heated added!

For anyone that doesn't know, KFA2 is the European brand/branch of Galaxy cards, they are extremely good quality and their HOF cards are beastly overclockers (I have a KFA2 770 HOF).

ALTHOUGH, with that said my card is actually faster than quite a few 780s, this one included, and its only £260ish at OCUK. Card is faster and gets greater benchmark scores, although does lack the extra GB of memory so dependant on what you're likely to be doing... choose accordingly

EDIT: The memory is also faster on the 770 HOF

THIS is a deal.

Wish I could give more than just a few degrees of heat.
This is a really good deal..
I wanted to have a new GPU by the end of the year for The Witcher 3, and if the 8xx series really has been delayed, I just might bite.

Trust me a 770 is not as good as a 780 anybody picking a 770 over a 780 needs their head tested its in a different league. I have a 770 running at 1185 and would be at best on par with a reference 780 but once a 780 is over clock your talking 10fps+ difference. I don't know anybody who would buy this 780 and not over clock it.

If I was looking for a 770 I would go with this one.

amazon.co.uk/Pal…770

Here is a real benchmark showing the 780 at stock still faster then a 770 at 1191mhz

This seems to back up what you said over Warnoq's comments against the KFA2 770 he mentioned. Fastest out of the box 770 but seems to perform under a reference 780 in the hexus review:

Of course its not as good, its at least £60 difference and lacks an extra GB of RAM but clock for clock, the KFA2 770 LTD OC is faster. The LTD OC is only really surpassed by EVGA classified and MSI lightening models (the lightening of which is around £340 last i checked).

That Palit is nothing in comparison and their RMA sucks, atleast KFA2 RMA is UK based.

You say your 770 is on par with a reference 780 which was exactly my initial point, and yours is running at 1185, mine at 1355mhz lol. So don't tell me im wrong without actually checking out the card, thanks. I was simply recommending something for the guy that said he wasn't sure about needing a 780... i.e he can save cash

also you can't say "if they get a 780 and overclock it" when comparing it to 770 without playing the same method... that card has great OC headroom even though it is already factory overclocked pretty well.
Not sure how far away 4k gaming is.It seems that 6 gig plus of Vram gives good results.Wonder if the next gen of GPU's will have this Vram increase.

I have a Gigabyte 780 and its a great match for Titanfall. It will run everything on max settings at 1080p and with V-Sync on it can produce 60fps with about 75% gpu usage with the odd spike but my fps never drop under 60fps which is critical for a smooth v-sync. I haven't even oc'd it yet as there is no point yet.

sorry there is no chance a gtx 770 is better then a 780, just not possible

also would recommend a 780 over a 770, a 770 is just a re-branded 680

I just ordered the R9 290. Seems to be faster, more memory (so more future proofed) and cheaper.

Have a look at the comparison here.

1440p is getting more common definitely but I would say 1080p seems to still be the most common. Looking at some recent benchmarks I would probably opt for Sli 770 4gb or Sli 780's if I went 1440p but its just not worth it to me yet.

I game at 1440 with a single 780, I get very good framerates but do sometimes have to turn the odd setting down. Still wipes the floor with 1080 though.
