Khudary/Safawy dates by Al Madina Date Company £3.49 each or 2 for £6. Price is the same whether you buy the 550 grams pack or the 1kg pack.

This may be area/store specific as they're probably targeting Muslim shoppers in the run up to Ramadaan.

The khudary dates are quite soft, but wouldn't say they're mushy

No, I couldn't find it online either which is why I think they're store or area specific depending on the make up of their customers

I bought some Medjool dates yesterday from Sainsbury's, never had them before, had those crappy Eat Me dates before probably have added syrup and preservatives (a guess), the Medjool were like eating toffees, simply gorgeous. Hmm that weather reporter is pretty nice on BBC London, anyway back in the room, sorry put me off my thread there. What was I saying? Oh yes dates, could definitely go on one with her, sorry lost my concentration again. Medjool dates taste great and really did remind me of toffee

I dont think these are from Madina jist a company called Al Madina....correct me if I am wrong?

also in tesco

You are quite right. Al-Madina company is based in Madina Al-Munawwara, Saudi Arabia. They import dates from various Arab Countries and pack them with company packaging including local produce as well. But you cant tell your package contains which country's produce. Quality Dates...

I'm going to Saudi this week so will be getting from there

I think it was Georgina Burnett, that is if she reports for BBC London Weather, otherwise it was a similar looking lady.
