Free with the fire service if you ring them

But they send someone to your house so you need to take a day off. Its too involved. I champion someone taking the time to post a life saving (and cheapish) offer.

Valid points all round .. & I agree with the pair of u ..... lol. :-)

Good price. I was after two of these recently and the best I could find was a twin pack from screwfix for £24. Heat

bargain especially as the leaseholder of my flat charged me £150 to supply and "fit" one of these in my communal hall way

I would of thought that would be included as part of your maintenance charge and the responsibility of the leaseholder/management company. I wouldn't have paid it!!

Hopefully not smokin hot.

Heat added.

Didn't with me - They asked if we needed assistance and said no. They just gave us one to fit ourselves.

It may be worth it if you're not sure about the best positioning, they should have a bit more experience?

Only issue is that the alarm they fit (not this one) gets really bad reviews on amazon with the battery not lasting much.

HEAT!

Ordered some, lowest price ever for this model, brilliant spec and they actually work, unlike some of the market tat ones that are more money!

There must be an authority to report your unscrupulous leaseholder to.

Why do you need to take a day off, it's ten minutes of a job at whatever time suits you day or evening.

They came to us one evening when I got home from work. Gave us a fire safety talk as well. They put the blue flashing lights on for the kids when they drove off.

For those people with busy life style it is not as simple as that and that is not a guarantee that the they will turn up on the date and time of the appointment

Great deal, just purchased a different one earlier so cancelled that and go this one. Cheers

Not everywhere offers this now, unfortunately. This is due to budget cuts. If they do, they will come in the evenings if required.

The twelve poor reviews do seem to indicate a problem with false alarms.

I had two alarms from my local FB shortly after a fire, and both of them failed to reach two years of life.

The excellent thirty three reviewers clearly did not have problems with false alarms. It is after all a really good smoke alarm as long as it keeps working.

Why do you need to take the day off work???? The Fire service are available to fit these in the evenings as well!!! they also have a 10 year guarantee. ...any problems with them, they will come back and replace them.....they also give you Fire safety advice and a Home safety check......all for FREE (or built into the council tax, if you want to be pedantic)

got one of these fited free by the fire brigade quite sensitive go off some time when im cooking

Nothing compared to the high false alarm rates (which you can't turn off without dismantling them) of the somewhat notorious Nest Protect. This poor Google (who own Nest!) guy really doesn't like them...

I didn't even phone the fire brigade for a free alarm and they turned up out of the blue on a Saturday afternoon and fitted two for free for me!

Don't you get these free? I've recently got 3 new ones fitted in!!!

great price - unfortunately, I bought 50 of these a month ago at the original price from Amazon.

Voted hot just due to the fact that this reminded me my upstairs fire alarm needs replaced. Not by this model I'm after a wired in mains rechargeable jobbie from screwfix.

You'd pay any price to save family.

Not bad but never was that rrp. Been a tenner a number of times.

Also, this model is better than anything the FB fit.

Good alarm. If you give it a hoover every few months no false alarms either

The fire service will come at night as well. It is not too involved, if you say to them at the start of the visit you just want the alar(s), that is what you get!
