heat for a life saving post
Great value when you take into account the 10 year life as well.
thanks op
Great post, heat added.
Ordered, thanks for reminding me our old one needed replacing!
Bought one last month, every household which as gas supply should have one, even consider if you don't as I think fumes can pass through walls.
Have been thinknig we should have one of these so ordered thanks - can't really afford not to I guess.
Do brand new homes have to have these fitted per standard do you think?
Good price but the 7 year version is £9.95 inc VAT from Costco if anyone has one nearby...
Thanks
heat for a safety product and also £10 cheaper than in our local wickes
I have this downstairs in the kitchen, near the boiler. The carbon monoxide reading is always on 0. The boiler is brand new so is the reading likely to be correct? Of course thats the reading you want but I just cant tell if its actually working. Also are you supposed to have another upstairs? Thanks

They only give a reading above a certain level so don't worry, it's working. You only need it near where the combustion is taking place, i.e. a gas fire or boiler.
Thanks

Pretty sure they are only mandatory in N. Ireland for new builds and all landlords. They are also mandatory on all solid fuel installs in the UK. Great price for something that should be as obligatory as smoke alarms.

You are probably right, I am going by Northern Ireland.I just presumed it would have been standard all over the UK.
Nice find. Our old 7 year life Kidde CO detector is due to pack up soon so I've been wanting a replacement.
Got one of these last month, easy to use, stick the batteries in and it's done, no brainer for every household.
Thanks OP, been meaning to buy one for a while.
Needed one of these, thanks!
£12.50 in Asda but not voted either way in case you don't have an Asda close
bought this a few weeks ago. works well, and great value as it lasts twice as long as most co2 alarms.

You can get CO testing kits (a can of compressed CO, a shower cap and a rubber band, essentially!) from Plumb Center (quite possibly other plumbing merchants, too).
