Anyone else seen these nationwide?
nice, never seen them in my local. i want one
Doubt it's nationwide, possibly a misprice, that's normally more like the price of a smoke alarm. I picked one of these up a few months ago for around £12 on amazon and I thought that was cheap. However these things do have a shelf life so if that's close they should reduce them.
No it is nationwide - I picked one up at the weekend and meant to post (only 2 on the shelf in Fareham when I grabbed mine).

Been after one for ages and just thought I'd check and stunned to see them at £4.

Full price (£12 ish) at my Asda (Brighton)
full price at the Nuneaton store too, sadly.
£12 in Asda Blantyre
Still £12 in ASDA Trafford Centre
That's great, they are usually over 10 pounds, and 10 pounds when on sale. And if you are worried about your gas heater, this is the only kind that may detect a fault!

Why has this got heat if its not nationwide?
councils provide free carbon monoxide alarm if you have 12 month boiler check with your council if dont have one
housing association do not through
I have seen a kidde model in ASDA Manchester for £8 some time back . so if this may be a different model Value deal @ £4 Must for every house with Gas.
Yep, this is an old model so unlikely national, rather just the odd store that has some still in stock. The new model is oval in shape rather than round and are on sale nationally in Asda at £8 for the Kidde CO Detector and £5 for the Kidde Smoke Alarm.

I've been meaning to post them both on here for the past few days. They are on a display board together saying Rollback from £12.50 and £7 respectively

Local deal. I got one and guess what-batteries are dead! Must have been sitting on a shelf for ages...
All over the news this morning - these should sell well today..
if you value your life install a mains powered versino, the amount of times the news reports someone dying if a home fire and they had either no batteries or dead ones in the alarms
Just got back in my store (Maesteg) the oval one is showing at £8 but when i asked for a scan it came up at £12.50
It's £8.50 online at Asda.com with 9v battery and 5 years warranty. Still Good and worth it even for £8.50;)

Hush button feature to temporarily silence nuisance alarms (e.g. cooking or steam).
5 year warranty.
Test button for checking alarm operation.
Loud alarm.
Flashing light indicates alarm is operating.
Easy to set up and install.
Low battery warning signal.

What???

So boilers and gas fires etc will now never get faulty? Wow, so i can cancel my gas boiler service from now on as it'll always be fine?

I'd get your boiler checked as it's clearly not working properly and is pumping Carbon Monoxide into your house and destroying your brain cells, and it doesn't look like you have that many left.

What an idiotic and dangerous comment

And if you can't afford mains ones? You can always do as the manufacturer suggests and regularly test the detector by pressing the "Test" button to ensure the batteries are working, not that hard.

Plus, these are CO Detectors NOT Fire Alarms

I can confirm there are two of these left on the shelf in the Ashford (Kent) store right now. Not easy to spot but on the top shelf right at the very back, in the vicinity of the smoke alarms etc. There is no label to identify their existence. Now i am almost 6 foot tall but I had to stand as far back as I possibly could to see them them, grab the longest thing in range (a tube of sealant) take an athletic run and jump across the aisle using the sealant tube to flick back the alarm before catching it mid flight. But it was only £4 and very much worth the effort. Mine will be used in my camper. If you want to go and get one take some stilts or a ladder!!!
Worth having for gas if you want some peace of mind but statistically you're going to bite the dust in another form, but I rather be safe than dead - got a mains one in the airing cupboard with my boiler. However if you got a stove its mandatory, I have one for my wood burner. Mains with battery back up though is the way to go. I just wish you could have one that does smoke, carbon monoxide and gas.
