And in the meantime....

...one has been ordered

Got one from Xiaomi (but made by Honeywell) with wireless notification to my smartphone - in case I'll be away and something will happen - I just phone for Fire Brigade if I receive one (hope NEVER not)

... additionally I've bought wireless door bell (same - someone will ring - I'll be away - I'll know someone rang to my door).
I've got magnetic sensor on my door in case thief and motion sensor - everything for few £

Is this better than the £7.50 one from Tesco Groceries? Thanks.

It's a carbon monoxide alarm, not a fire alarm.
Don't phone the fire brigade; switch any gas appliances off and open the windows.
Get the appliances serviced before using them again.

I think he's talking about this one: gearbest.com/ala…tml

£34. Seems pricey but if you want remote alerts then that's the device for you

Sorry I have to ruin it but got a dual one and second smoke alarm on here couple of months back and it came to 19.99 with delivery, IMO it is not a good deal compared to the two items offer

It's not ruining this deal, I don't want any more smoke alarms so why would I pay twice as much?

If you are an Amazon Prime member, this other Kidde CO alarm model is probably better value for just an extra £1.58 as it has a 10 year manufacturer's warranty and sensor life.

1. GearBest, I personally would not trust anything from there with saving my life.

2. That's a methane alarm, not CO...... It will not detect Carbon Monoxide! Buy a Carbon Monoxide Detector!

What a coincidence, you also collect carbon monoxide alarms! I have over 200 from different manufacturers around the world in display cases around my house. How many do you have?
:-)

Good price, just a shame it doesn't alert adults.

Do not install within 2 metres of heating or cooking appliances. (Kidde
recommends 5 metres to prevent nuisance alarms).

I've one of these but ended up having to take the batteries out as the constant alarm was giving me a headache and making me feel sick and sweaty.

Why risk your life with a kidde alarm? Get a proper adult version!

These are not good alarms.

Correct, they only work when things go bad.

Correct, they only work when things go bad.

They also don't work when things go bad. And also work when there is nothing wrong!!
I would avoid

I don't think you can put a real price on these type of alarms. No matter what the cost,if it works then buy it.
Everyone should have one.I personally have two just in case one goes faulty. Not of the type listed but a different model.
But they there too do a job and thankfully apart from my usual battery test,i have never had too see it in action.

looks like Amazon have price matched it if you a a prime member already. Saves having to leave the house to get one.Your text here
