Hardly exciting and I'll understand if this gets voted cold but If you don't have one then this is the joint cheapest price ever on this.

If you do, please check your existing CO alarms and maybe even stick a recurring calendar reminder in to check them periodically.

CO is a silent killer. If you have an appliance that uses a flame then you need a CO alarm in the room.
I don't personally know anyone that has died from carbon monoxide poisoning but some relatives of friends have.

I had to remove the battery from my carbon monoxide alarm.

The constant beeping was giving me a headache and making me feel sick and dizzy,

Can't help but laugh. Bravo!
Sealed battery... that a selling point?

Yes - should mean that the batteries don't need to be replaced every year. With this unit, you dispose of it after 10 years and buy a new one.

Not really a laughing matter. A close friend of my wife died because of carbon monoxide poisoning. My wife actually knocked on her door when she was unconscious, but getting no response, didn't realise she was in trouble, not just out.

I’ve just got a couple of smoke alarms that are the same,it’s a good idea I think.
Can anybody recommend between the posted alarm and this alarm please?

The Kidde claims 10-year battery compared with 7-year for the Fireangel.
I've had a few Fireangel sealed smoke alarms fail after only a couple of years - although the manufacturer was happy to provide replacements.
On balance, I'd go for the Kidde.

Whilst I have sympathy with the tragic circumstances surrounding your friend's death, I don't think he is making a laughing matter about this. The "joke" is that he is an idiot for removing the battery - not that you should remove the battery.

Indeed for anyone not aware of the symptoms of CO poisoning, he has just highlighted three obvious signs for people to look out for, if they weren't already aware.
His joke could just save a life

I keep at least two if not 3 from different manufacturers. Had a dodgy gas fridge in my caravan for a bit and hence had lots. Have had one brand go off and another not so to be really safe people buy 2 minimum and preferably 3. Total of what, £40-50 every 5 years. For the life of your family it’s a no brainier.
