Should be national - a rollback price. I went into Asda looking for the £3.75 RTC Kidde carbon monoxide alarm but saw this instead, it comes with a Duracell battery, itself normally costing about £2.50. See full details on the link wickes.co.uk/Kid…370

Landlords must by law fit smoke and carbon monoxide alarms - if your rented place is missing one or both, contact your landlord immediately and request them - you might remind them that failure to fit alarms will leave the landlord liable to a fine of up to £5000.

Saw this on the BBC today but so far only one website has the story it’s not great news but also worryingly only 10% of homes havethem. Considering they are so cheap or even “free” that’s a shocking statistic.

do you reckon that's true? I'm always setting ours off when I 'burn the toast' or otherwise create a bit of smoke in the kitchen - I do like to singe the outside of my steaks etc

ours work fine

Yeah have to say the same, more worries on the lack of them in houses myself than that. Though I do worry about sleeping kids not hearing them, which has been proven recently after the awful fire where the father set fire to the house killing his kids. We set ours off and the kids didn’t move, good job we are light sleepers but if anything happened to us, kids would nott hear it.
