Kidde ( i9080 ) Smoke Alarm with Light and Hush Button £8.66 Argos

Found 23rd Jul
I`m after a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm. Found the smoke one on Argos and seems like a good price for what it offers.
If anybody knows a better deal / product for both both types of alarm, I`ll be more than happy to listen and receive links too:)

At least one smoke alarm should be installed on each level of the home. The i9080 has ionisation sensor technology, and 5 years manufacturer's warranty. It has an emergency escape light which illuminates when smoke is detected, and is designed to help guide you to safety. The supplied batteries are not included as part of the product warranty. A hush button allows nuisance alarms to be temporarily silenced. It can be wall-mounted (between 10-30cm from the ceiling) or if ceiling- mounted (at least 10cm from the corner with the nearest wall).

The two-screw mounting bracket, and full fitting instructions are included – very easy to install and set up. See PDF for full product details.

It's LPCB tested and certified to EN14604:2005, CE tested, and is fully tested before leaving the factory. Any question not answered in the Q+A or PDF call Kidde on 0800 917 0722 (UK) or 1 800 818 601 (S. Ireland).

  • Hush button operation.
  • Test button operation.
  • Batteries required: 2 x 9V (included) .
  • Size H12.4, W12.4, D3.6cm.
  • Weight 0.27kg.
  • Manufacturer's 5 year guarantee.
  • EAN: 47871267378.

Thanks for posting this. I know I needed a reminder to replace my aged smoke alarms and maybe you've helped some others out too.

Amazon have a "Kidde 10SCO Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Voice Notification" for around £15.50. Seems like a deal if you need both. Best seller on there too.
Excellent vacuum cleaner.

In Scotland they do it for free, not sure about England.

"You may qualify for free smoke alarms to be fitted within your home. We will carry this out completely free of charge and can fit them in a matter of minutes, ensuring you are safer from the moment we leave."

Sounds like some qualification needed. Low income or something perhaps.

Heat + ordered. Spotted a LifeSaver carbon monoxide alarm for £13.33 so nabbed one of those too.

Thanks.

Yup..I saw them last night, good thing with the voice notification" but I went for the one I've posted as these has that guiding light in case of activation.
I also went for these ones for monoxide carbon - 10 years battery lifetime.

I prefer the one posted by me. 5 years warranty instead of 3 and you have the guiding light.
You can get cheaper than the one posted by me ..but with less options. You also have a choice from amazon for 15£ with voice warning..could make the difference!

Free to the person getting the free smoke alarm anyway.

The cost transferring to the rest of us that are funding the freeloaders who want to spend their tenner on a couple of beers rather than safeguarding their homes and family for the next 5+ years.

You may have heard wrong I’m a firefighter and we fit smoke alarms for people several times a day. I’m sure your local brigade will still do the same

Cheshire target households with over 65 and under 5 age groups
These are Carbon Monocide as well. No local Fire Authority fits these.

All the recent reviews for this seem abysmal.
All fire brigades fit smoke alarms just contact your local station.
